COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cherny (english interpretation) means "black" in Czech (actually cernť). Bock (meaning "goat" in German) has itís roots coming from the north of Germany near the town of Einbeck. Over the years it made itís way south to the Bavarian/Bohemian borders allowing brewing artisans to perfect itís recipes. Our bock is a Czech rendition of the great beer combining the best of ingredients. Very deep black-red in color, Cherny Bock is a rather surprising dark single bock lager with a gentle bitterness, a lightly hoppy aroma and a roasted malt flavor to appeal to all your senses. A true gem to be discovered by true specialty beer lovers.

Great beer. Aroma of crisp roasted malt. Flavor is creamy with a hint of nutmeg like spices and just a little bit of funky kick. Great for a dark beer that isnít too heavy to session. I have bought this before and will do so again.

Absolutely nothing special, smells strongly of malt, and tastes almost tart. Utterly skippable

12 oz can, courtesy of Douglas88. Pours almost black with reddish edges. Nice 2 finger creamy beige head. Malty aroma with light hoppyness. Smells a lot like cream soda. Roasted malt and light chocolate flavor w/ a touch of smoke. Still manages to be slightly sweet. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Nice.

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this can. The beer pours a dark reddish-amber color with a white head. The aroma has a lot of dark fruit, as well as some toffee and caramel malt. The flavor is similar, with toffee, caramel, cocoa and a lot of dark fruit. There is also some dry nuttyness in the flavor. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Acquired in a trade. Poured into a Mikasa Tulip at 48 Degrees F. Enjoyed on a warm Sunday out on my porch while doing Spring Cleaning.

A - Poured a dark reddish brown. SRM of 33 easily. 3 Finger head was produced very creamy and light tan in appearance. Subsided quickly with a nice head lacing left over.

S - Gorgeous smell. Deep dark malts, mahogany, walnuts, toffee and cream soda. Iím getting some charcoal scents as well.

T - Whoa. Yeah, this is delicious. It helps Iím a fan of bocks. Very sweet and explosive tongue tingle from the first sip. Notes of wood, earth and nuts. Mild bitterness akin to drinking a root beer. Mild sweet and hoppy lingering.

M - Medium body. 20% carbonation on the mouth swish. Sticks around for a while

O - Great beer. Solid and drinkable.

(12oz can, thanks to blutt59) rich ruby brown with medium tan fine bubbles. Nose of chocolate wafers, dry cocoa, coconut and cream. Taste of dry cocoa, cream, unsweetened grain, linger of medium toasty grain and medium carbonation.

Not terrible, but not good, either. Some nice roasted malt flavors, a little bit of hops, and some interesting sour notes that donít blend well at all. Overall it was thin, watery, and just sorta blah.
