3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 20, 2012
June 2010: 12 oz Can (4% ABV) picked up at Ruby’s Inn outsdie Bryce Canyon NP.
Sat outside our motel room I poured the can into two toothbrush plastic cups, I had nothing else to use!
The beer was a golden pilsner colour (what a suprise) and had a pure white head which gave some good lacing on our plastic cups.
My notes mention a good body depth, that the beer had character and good attributes which came through from the start of the tasting.
All in all, a good pilsner, as good as many original Czech ones I’ve reviewed anyway.

Can thanks to Dallas. Pours clearish golden orange with white head. Nose/taste of malt, pepper and spicy hops. Medium body.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 nick76 (3583) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 15, 2011
The aroma is hoppy with a lemony/grassy type of hop and the malt is only slightly sweet. The appearance is golden with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma with an astringent end. The palate is thin but right for the style. Overall I found the beer unenjoyable. It looked nice with a foamy head and the beer seems right for the style but it’s not enjoyable in any way.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Velkyal (219) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - JUL 4, 2011
Pours golden, topped with the firm white head, looks the part. The nose is floral, orange blossom and a touch of hay. Tastes lightly grainy, biscuity and with a good dose of bitterness, tastes the part of a proper Czech lager. Perhaps a little thin in the body but otherwise on the nail.

Can thanks to Douglas. Poured a clear gold with a white head that dissipated to the edges and laced. Aroma has a nice crispness with some grass hops and a nice hay and grain backbone. Flavor is similar with a nice crispness, light grass hops and a grain and bread backbone.

Pretty. I’ll give it that. But I’m having a hard time getting over the green-apple-yeast flavor that lingers on the tongue after you sip this pint. The taste isn’t entirely off, but you wish the Saaz hops played a bigger role in balancing out this tart bastard. Eventually the flavor fades into a metallic, lemony aftertaste, not pleasant and quite prolonged. Nice lacing down my glass, though.

12oz can courtesy of Jersey Joe. Rating #49. Hazy dark yellow pour, I’m thinking it’s more of a chill haze than anything else, moderate to decent lacing from a slightly creamy white head. Slightly grassy aroma, malty and a bit oxidized. Nice little bitter bite to it, pretty crisp and not too bad. (1507)

deep straw yellow color with a fluffy white head which leaves behind tons of foamy lace.
bready aroma... mixed with florals, peppery spice, lemon, some grassiness and pils malt.
the flavor is the same.... with a spicy dry finish and notes of nobles and straw.
medium bodied, crisp and terribly sessionable. this needs to be in phx!

Clear gold pour with a foamy head. Light aroma of grain and citrus. Flavor is sweet malt and a hint of fruit and citrus hop. A nice light lager.
