* Old Rating. 0,5l crown-top-bottle, best before 09.05 .

500ml bottle. Clear, reddish dark brown colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, ochre head. Minimally roasty dark malty aroma, hints of roasted grain, a touch of treacle, minimally grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is dry dark malty, slightly roasty, subtle sweetness, cautious hints of treacle, bitter hoppy overtones. More than just OK.

Pours out of the bottle in a deep black colour with low head and medium to thin body. Arpma of malt and grains. Taste of mild roasted malt, dark bread, leaves, light nuts and torf. Hints of caramel. Watery and thin finish. Easy to drink but tastewise just average and boring.

Bottle: Clear, ruby-amber coloured, bigger and very slowly collapsing loose white head, mild to moderate dry toasty-caramelly nose, some fruitiness detectable; light bodied and soft; a malty bitterness is added in the slightly lingering and moderately dry toasty-caramelly finish. Nice Schwartzbeer…

Draught at the 16th BBF, as "Dunkle Sünde". Pours a pretty reddish-mahogany with lacing tan head. Worty nose, taste is moderately dry with some good hops poking through and a modest vein of exposed bitterness. Medium body, very mild tanginess, only OK. Faint fruit and nuts.
