Bottle (german beer # 4000!!!): Pale golden with a greenish sheen, mid-sized fluffy white head; aromatic herbal to grassy hops in the nose, accompanied by a good sweet pale-malty base and a (oxidized) buttery tinge; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied and very soft; clean sweet pale-malt and noble hops in the lingering finish, followed by a drier "woody" aftertaste. Not a Helles at all, but a perfectly crafted Bohemian Pils.......

Süßlich-getreidiger Geruch. Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is metallic, grainy, mildly grassy and salty as well. Flavour is metallic, grassy, mildly salty and a bit harsh in the finish.

Bottled. Pale yellow, faint head. Vague grassy nose. Light bodied with crisp, creamy mouthfeel. Corn flakes and grass, fairly low bitterness. Decent easy drinking lager.

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Pale malty and slightly grainy aroma with citric and slightly spicy herbal hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth and well-matured carbonation. Mildly grainy pale malty taste with subtle fruity notes and herbal accents; sweet and light-bitter, also slightly woody hoppy finish. Pretty flavourful for an Eisbier-Lager. 20.VIII.10

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Sweet-spicy aroma. Tastes the same. Starts very spicy, absolutely no dryness. The spicyness takes a short break in the finish, but is back in the aftertaste. Well balanced. Interesting beer!

Draught. Due to the name, I expected at thin, bland beer. But this is rather flavourful, malty with fruity aroma hops. Not ice-like.

Nearly gushing; gold coloured beer under small white head, fast gone. Pure malts nose, bit of (dried) grass, spent grains, bit of greenmalts and drying hay. Again a very malty and grassy taste - like being in an active brewery, breathing and tasting. Light MF, but excellent in its style, quite refreshing. Individual notes are too low, I realise. This beer is nowhere spectacular, but just terrific in its class. Whence the name "Eisbier", however? Thus extra points here - thanks, Sebastian.
