Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, toasted, fruity, moderate to light heavy yeasty, leather, spicy, coriander, wood, anis seed. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, peppery. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091118]

A hazy orange beer with a fine white disappearing head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet and slightly spicy and yeasty before a rather dry hoppy end sets in.

(Ceramic bottle 75 cl) This original version from Brouwerij Sterkens in Meer. Dark amber with an impressive, frothy, white head. Notes of roasted malt and caramel, but dominated by a wonderfully spiciness and an almost piquante aftertaste. Some smokiness like in tobacco or whisky malt. 100299

75 cL bottle, courtesy of chris_o. Pours clear and golden yellow with a collapsing white head. Dense phenolic yeasty aroma. Light orange fruity nose. Smooth yeasty and caramel malty in a nice mellow mix. Smooth and mild finish.

Bottled. Hazy yellow colour, mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma is sweet malts, honey, fruits and slight notes of yeast. Flavour is caramel and fruits along with slight spices and yeast. When it warms up it gets some slightly glueish alcoholnotes in the flavour.

Blond color. Quite sweet and good Strong Belgian Ale, with some sweet spicy character.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2004 Tasty Belgian 'session' ale (at 7.2%!). Fresh, hoppy flavours, less yeast than a lot of Belgians, and subtle complexity. I love the orangey-amber colour.
