4/30/12. 750mL bottle. Slightly hazy golden pour, borderline orange, with a nice creamy, thick, barely off-white head that laces in big rings. Yeasty, fruity, bubblegum, estery aroma with touches lf light sugar. Slightly sweet entry with plenty of yeast and a hint of sugars, but the mid and finish are quite dry. Lingers dry, slightly fruity, and yeasty. Not bad.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 skoll (348) - Traverse City, Michigan, USA - APR 22, 2012
Pours a cloudy orange-gold color with quick diminshing white head. Aroma is fruity and cereal malts. Taste is complex; Cloves, banana and honey up front Moderate hop presence that balance out the sweetness nicely. Finish is a little bit astringent. Overall, I am impressed. Very drinkable. I’ve been selling this for 5 years and this is my first taste but for 12 bucks a bottle it may be awhile before I taste this one again.

From notes. First reviewed 10/3/2011. Poured from a 22 oz. ceramic Monsters bottle into a tulip.
Out of a very unique ’Monsters’ flip top ceramic bottle, this pours a hazy golden tangerine color. Lots of resplendent carbonation refreshes a creamy white head. Initially a large cap rests on top, but a thinner film remains for the duration of the glass. Nice lace down the sides of the glass.
The aroma is fairly sweet. White grape and green apple work with a honey sweet pale malt to provide this effect.
The flavor is fairly sweet as well. A gentle honey sweetness and bready malt carries the flavor into the fruit. White grapes and green apples and then a vague spiciness. The end of the sip has a slightly medicinal flavor and remains sweet.
The body of this beer is on the fuller side of medium. The carbonation is soft and creamy smooth. A grainy feel exists in each sip.
Without a ton of complexity, this ends up being a fairly plain, fairly sweet Belgian Strong Pale Ale. The best thing about it is the bottle. But since that was the reason I picked it up in the first place, I don’t really have much to complain about.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 mattyb83 (635) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 23, 2011
Slightly hazy straw yellow color with small white head. Yay!!! A beer that doesn’t look like poop for once tonight, and one that actually has a little bit of a head on it. Two firsts in one pour. Fruity and floral aroma with all the typical belgian esters, but also a touch of lemon and potpourri. Taste is slightly grainy, slight nutmeg/clove and cinnamon. Meh. Just nothing that makes this beer interesting. It reminds me of every generic belgian ale with nothing that makes me want to drink this again. I’d take a duvel over it every day that ends in "day".
