COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an old ale/stock ale. Old ales are remnants of a period when most ales were strong and somewhat dark. Today’s versions are wide ranging. In general, however, they can be described as ales of higher than average strength that benefit greatly from some aging, are gently hopped, and that showcase a malt base. Some are seasonal brews. Aging may be the key contributor to the character of old ale, as they can develop a complex profile with some oxidative or wine-like notes.

One of my favorite beers they brew. Maybe its just my style but it is filling without being filling and flavorful without being overbearing, More beers should just be good without being cluster-f***s. Ok so I like those beers too but this beer offers a drinkable yet substantial, enjoyable, clean plated opportunity. Drink it if your worth it.

Pours a burnt copper with thin head and good lacing and retention. Aroma is caramel malts. Taste is caramel malts and toffee. Some bitterness appears right at the end. Fizzy carbonation and finishes clean.

Draft at the brewer. Hard to see clearly but it looks copper with a thin tan head. Scent is roasted malt. Smooth malty taste with an earthy note.

Draft… Hazy amber/orange ale with a fizzy, white head. Decent retention. The aroma is of warm caramel-malt mash with a touch of cornmeal. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Moderate citrus bitterness alongside grainy toffee and caramel malt sweetness. Crisp, dry finish.

On tap at Bold City. It poured clear copper with tan head. The aroma has some roasty and sweet malts mixing with some earthy cherry like sensations. The taste has a smooth sweet maltiness mingling with lesser amounts of malt roastiness and citrus to earthy hops. Tasty stuff.

Tap@ the brewery. pours copper, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some burnt caramel. Flavor, roasted / dark malts, some caramel that seems to come out and adding to the sweetness. Medium carbonation with some spices and hints of hops. Palate seemed to retain some light dark fruit aspects.

Pint on tap at the brewery. Pours a nice, slightly cloudy amber with a one finger white head that leaves very good lacing. Aroma is rye and caramel malt. Taste is sweet and refreshing with toffee, caramel, and rye notes. Some bready malt too. Good creamy body. An excellent session beer.

Jacksonville, Fl. - on tap at the brewery tap room. My pick out of the 10 beer sampler for a full pint. Pours a medium copper with a soft white head that leaves good lacing. Good caramel and chocolate in the aroma. Flavor has a nice earthy quality to it with some noticeable chocolate, toffee and a hint of citrusy hoppiness. Mouthfeel is rich and thick. Best of the sampler - glasses were too small to be able to provide a adequate sample in my opinion.

On tap at the brewery. Lightly hazed copper with a tan head. Nutty caramel nose. Nice caramel flavors, nutty and mild, some light earth and chocolate. Tasty.
