32oz growler (thanks to drowland) poured into a New Belgium globe. My first rate, but felt I needed to rate it, considering Im drinking this in Arizona. Aroma is a LOT of bourbon barrel for such a light colored beer. Smells quite nice. Appearance is a slightly hazy golden red with a small, soapy head that bubbled away, leaving just a little ring around the edge of the glass. Taste is mostly barrel, but pretty mellow, otherwise. Dont get much hop and just a little bitter. Almost have a hard time calling this an IPA, which is a bit of a shame. Overall its pretty solid. Quite a lot of barrel, but easy drinking and pleasant.

32 ounce growler from brewery poured a dark orangish color with aromas of bourbon, wood, hops, and some caramel. Flavors follow suit with hops up front with some vanilla and bourbon thrown in. A very nice surprise from this brewery, glad I got to enjoy this one.

First to rate! 11/21/12. Growler brought home from the brewery. Hazy dark orange pour with a small, soapy khaki head that cuts to a bubbly ring and laces very slightly. Definite barrel character in the aroma from the getgo - vanilla, slight bourbon, buttery coconut, wood, and a hint of caramel and hop. The flavor shows faint bitterness with more of that barrel character. The IPA being aged in the barrel makes the hops fade a bit and this almost comes across as a light barrel aged barleywine. This is actually quite pleasant. One of their better beers to date, Id say.
