New to Jax, love this place, hometown brew lover in paradise. This is my favorite so far.Grapefruit bitterness, clean beer yet harsh finish, complex if you will give it the time. Dark hue looks like a red or a high gravity IPA but yields a drinkable brew, but the smell will really get you. Look for great things from this place, give them time.

Growler, throwdown. Attractive rub copper with a big foamy head. Grapefruit and resiny with a cookieish malt background. Long hoppy bitter finish.

On tap at the brewery. Clear red copper with a thin beige head. Earthy and citrusy nose, big caramel presence. Flavor brings in some piney woodiness. Rich!

On tap at Bold City. It poured deep copper with white head. The aroma is strangely Chinook like with spice, earthiness and some citrus. The taste is much the same with a mix of spice and earthy hops along with sweet malts and citrus. It has a pleasing thin layer of sweet malts creating some balance to the largely hoppy flavor.

Very good beer. By far my favorite at Bold City. Again very surprising since this beer is still an IPA.

Draught at brewery taproom. Bright copper, great color. Strong herbal character, Chinook-forward aroma with lots of sage, rosemary, and pine. Fun, quaffable mouthfeel. Grassy, interesting character lots of fun to glean the specific flavors from this hop.

1 gallon growler. Thanks to the Cheeseman for dropping this off, courtesy of PhillyBeer2112! thanks guys! we shared this one with everyone at the bar! Hoppy aromas, hints of pine with a big malty backbone, with molasses and caramel malts. Pours a pale amber with a solid white head. I would say this was more subtle than most american ipas and more along the english style. There was a big malty flavor that came though with some sweet crystal malts, caramelly with some piney ctrusy hops, but a sold session IPA. If this was from my local brewery i’d be happy to drink it regularly!

Pint at the brewery tap room. Golden beer with a medium white head. Nice hop aroma. Firm malt backbone stands up to the hops. This one is well balanced, yet delivers a good chinook hop flavor and bitterness. I like this one better than the regular IPA. Enjoyable and satisfying.
