GT2 (3953) - USA - JUL 26, 2009
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear, deep amber with a thin, tan head that has no retention and no lacing. Aroma of apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, chocolate malt, roasted chestnut. Taste is rather sweet with caramel, milk chocolate, roasted nuts. Sort of watery on the palate. A little fizzy. Works as an amber ale but not really a brown. And their "red" would work well as a brown.....hmmmm.

This is a little sweeter than perfect, but there’s a hazlenut quality to this that is actually pretty awesome.

Draft. Pours clear brown with frothy tan head; good retention and some lacing. Aroma is bread and toasted malts, straw, and caramel. Flavor is heavy malt, light hops and light smoke and nutty flavors. Medium body and carbonation with low warmth.

On draft at Bold City. Pours a slightly hazy brown with a tan head. Nose is caramel, slight biscuit, and some nuttiness. Flavor is similar with lingering malt and slight roast into the finish. Light to medium in body; drinkable brown ale.

Jlo7399 (167) - Florida, USA - OCT 10, 2011
Pours brown with white head that leaves a thin lace. Aroma is weak but some nice roastiness is found. Taste is roasty malts, a little nutiness and some nice sweetness. The taste is a little thin for a brown ale but what is there is good. The palate is a little too fizzy for a brown, but it’s a drinkable beer overall.

Brown pour with hinto red creamy light tan head and lace. Light chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Sour malt and light chocolate with a dry finish. Thin watery and fizzy. Not special but not bad.

nick76 (3583) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 14, 2011
The aroma is pretty bland with just tasted malt, caramel, alcohol, and a hint of hops. The appearance is brown with a foamy head that fades. The taste is bitter but like the aroma. The palate is a bit thin. Overall not the best brown but drinkable.

Malty caramel nose, lots of sugar and a touch of dark fruit. Taste is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, lots of toffee, some raisin and light dough.

12oz bottle, shared by tarheels86: Pours a clear deep amber mahogany with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Has a muted toasty malty nose with a hint of light fruitiness. Starts with a thin body and some light malty sweetness and good toasted nutty flavor before a drier thin finish. Quite drinkable, but could use a little more character.

Slightly hazy brown pour with a light tan head. Weak aroma. Flavor has roast and chocolate. Some coffee and a bitter finish. Nothing to complain about. Very drinkable.
