Big sample from Andy’s growler at the brewclub meeting. An excellent beer, one of the best brewed so far at Bold City Brewery. This beer is the result of a CASK brewclub competition to pick a recipe for Bold City to brew a big batch of with help from the winning homebrewer. Andy Butler (new president of the brewclub) won easily with his delicious ESB. Bold City did it justice in brewing a big batch and making it available. This beer really needs to be a part of the regular lineup at the brewery, not just a one-time special offering. The beer is deep copper-amber, with a medium head. Richly flavored, full body and generously hopped. Superb effort from Brian Miller (Bold City Brewery Brewmaster) and Andy Butler.

I’m excited to say that this was a big success. Smells great, taste is clean, rich, and interesting. Palate is perfect for this style. Missing some way to market this but it is new. This is one of the best beers I have had, great balance all around. Try it if you can get it (must like bitter beer).
