COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains at Wintergreen, Virginia is a cidery overlooking the Rockfish River. Here a custom blend of Virginia apples is crafted to make a premium hard cider with a rounded, full-bodied apple taste. Rich and beautifully effervescent, Crimson Ridge is exceptionally well-balanced, bringing out the very best in Virginia apples.

Bottle sample @ Bold Rock. Light gold with a tiny head. The nose is tart apple, a bit of dirty pear, woodland. The taste is very dry. Tart apple. Clean citrus finish. Light body, fine carbonation. Overall, more complex than the standard offerings. Agreeably spare.

Bottle. Pours clear champagne. Big apple juice aromas and flavor. Lightly tart, sugar. Nice crisp finish.

Sampled at the Richmond Gathering 20th. Brilliantly clear extremely pale hint of yellow pour with fair white head. Semi-sweet flavors and nose. Green apples. Solid and even though being sweet, finishes much drier than most ciders. But still not quite what I would consider extremely dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Richmond 20th. Light apple aroma. Flavor is apple and a hint of baked apple. Really smooth and nice. But not quite fitting of a "big" bottle.

Bottle @ RG 20. Very pale with light dissipating head. Smells like apple cotton candy. Not as crisp as it could be. Sweet.

Bottle from Wegmans Sterling - pours clear, pale yellow with tons of tiny bubbles. Aroma has some funk to it. Taste is tart. Palate is pretty thin, finishes dry. Solid, but meh.

Dry apple aroma, hints of olive and soap. Crystal clear pale yellow, some carbonation. Semi-sweet apple flavor, tart, less fresh than the non-premium offering from this cidery. A touch of olive in the finish. Balanced, soft carbonation. Not bad, but for the price paid it should be much better.

750 mL bottle from Beer Run. Pours a clear golden color with a large fizzy white head. Decent head retention for a cider, but it does fade quickly. Aroma of tart, dry apples, sweet apples, grainy pear and the faintest tannic note. The taste is pretty sweet and syrupy apples with a dry lightly tannic finish. Medium bodied with a lingering tartness. Strong effervescence. Decent.
