Can: Big vast and slow disappearing white head on top of a clear bright/light yellow colored beer. Smell grains and malts, glue ish corn, hop clay and the slightest hint of something like spiced/herbed nailpolish/paint remover. Taste grains, low to medium bitter, dusty iron, a hint of hops and some soft dough tints. Aftertaste is a bit herby with malty grains and a low to medium bitterness. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, low to medium body and a light creamy but more watery texture. The mouthfeel is extremely soft for this beer style. I dig the regular (Surinam) Djogo/Parbo way more than this weaker copy. Not bad but for the style, there are others which are way better.

500 Ml can. I believe this is from Surinam and not from Belgium. Anyway, regular lager look, fresh, crisp malty smell. Watery taste, easy going, just like in the Caribbean. Easy life

50cl Can from AH,as Faja Lobi Parbo Bier, doesn’t say where it’s been brewed, but I’m not surprised it’s a Belgian lager (sorry Belgians, I just don’t like your lagers).. Clear pale golden colour, aroma of swamp, skunky hops, grain. Flavour is sweet, vegetables, grain, light sour malts, watery metallic finish with a CO2 tingle. Light bodied. Not very good.

Bottle 25cl. @ home. [ As Bolle Jan Pilsener ].
Clear medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, light light hoppy, light to moderate yeasty, leather notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090509]

25 cl aka Bolle Jan pilsener. Kind of sweet and watery for a pilsner. Didn’t like it much.

25cl, alias Bolle Jan Pilsener, exclusive brew, from De Bierloods Adegem, not complex brew, yet refreshing, balanced, clear, good head, nothing special

Tasted as “Bolle Jan Pilsener”. Collapsing, just yellowish tinted head over clear metallic, pale golden beer. Shards of lace. Dry-ish, fresh malts nose, with a whiff of caramel and alcohol. Grainy, soft-sweet malts taste, fresh malts; actually quite good for a Pilsener/pale lager. Ends duller sweet. Light to medium bodied, grist slickness. Decent pilsener, better than usual from Huyghe. The label remarks that the bottle remains property of the brewery Bolle Jan. Ah? And what do they say in Melle about that? As to the caption “Echt Brabants”, that is beyond ridiculous.
