Bottle, a gift from MiP, thx mate. It pours a nice, clear, copper body with a small, white head. It’s bready on the nose, with caramel and malt. Fruityness as well. It has a bready taste with toffee and a little fruityness. Wee bitterness. More bitter towards the finish, and it continues to be bready and toffeeish. I’m not really sure about this one. It’s nice and drinkable in a way, but on the other hand it’s quite boring. It’s a nice break from pale lagers and boring pilsners though. (080521)
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JoeinEscazú (1324) - San Jose, COSTA RICA - MAY 19, 2008
Tasty and uncomplicated Altbier with healthy character. Bottle pours dark brown with bright amber highlights, thick whitish-gray head. Malty, dry-grassy nose. Taste is woody, caramel-malty, going into a growing and moderate bitterness. Dry mouthfeel with a faint touch of smoke in the backdrop. Dry and bitter aftertaste. Refreshing.

Bottle, 4.9%. Clear dark copper colour, greyish. Stable tan head. Weak aroma, a little rough. The flavour is also rough, sharp bitterness. I guess Alt is not one of my favourite styles.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kappldav123 (3760) - Markkleeberg, GERMANY - DEC 21, 2007
The bottle looks good, but the labels would also fit to a wine-bottle. The beer is dry and malty, not as drinkable as other alts. An average beer.
