3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rastacouere (6045) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 10, 2007
Dark copper pour with actually a small haze to it. The off-white head does not last very long, big-bubbled as it is. Brown sugar emanates besides the leafy, earthy hops for a healthy and rather fresh nose. Grainy more than toasty palate with a fair sweetness. Sharp carbonation enhances a slight metallic tang. An okay example.

Bottle. Copper pour with a beige head. Gentle malty aroma with hops and (yes!) spag funk. Taste is dark malt and a bit of caramel. Bitterness is restrained, though there are hops present. Sweetness, too, subtle and berry-like. Very smooth. Dry end. Excellent! Thanks to MortizF!

A deep amber beer with a strong white head. A sharp, hoppy nose initially, that mellows with the addition of sweet malt and caramel. The taste is dry and hoppy, and again, there is a hint of sweet malt towards the end, the finish is dry and slightly tart, and the aftertaste is long and dry on the mouth. Bottle, purchased from the Beers of Europe, Setchey, Norfolk.

Bottle: Amber coloured, firm beige head, sticking to the glass; malty nose, also cardboard and dust; malty taste with a faint bitterness, ending with a short, nearly grassy bitterness in the malty finish, metallic tinge, too. Bolten used to brew very good beers not very long ago; now the owners changed and, as it seems, the quality also........

(Bottle 50 cl). Dark brown almost mahogany-coloured beer. Decent head although it fades quickly. Nice, toffeeish body, slightly roasted tone and an incredibly delicious flavor. Distinct, but not dominating bitterness. 200903
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DanielBrown (3168) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 22, 2005
Bottle from Maeib (ta!) Copper beer, with 1 cm of beige froth. Malty beer - approaching something lagery. An echo of choc, but really achingly plain, offering merely refreshment and smooth cohesion. Less compelling than the draft Alts I’ve tried.
