Raisin, hazelnut. Toffee, earthy wooden finish. Nothing outstanding but a drinkable little Alt.

Fliptop bottled, 50 cl.
Opal dark amber coloured one with a broad pored beige head on its top.
Yeasty aroma escorted by caramel and toast, mouthfeel is nicely slick.
Medium to long, sweetbitter dry finish with herbs and toasted malt again.
Balanced and nice Alt, which I was glad to taste...

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Well-known example of the Altbier style, originally the unfiltered version of Bolten Alt, but now replacing the latter. Off-white, thin but stable foam, colour a deep bronze. Aroma strongly nutty, toasty and caramelly, but also a bit smoky, with light floral hop notes. Taste malty, nutty and biscuit-like malts as custom in the genre, mouthfeel a bit watery, bit metallic too, finish a strong leafy hop bitter.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle courtesy of a German colleague. Pours chestnut skin, clear, with a beige medium foamy head very tick, and a oily texture. Little metallic notes. Nose of light malts, some little pine resin and syrup. Malts in the mouth, mild and smooth body with a medium bitterness and some overall notes of crusty bread. Nice beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from the Bierkoning. Nice deep brown pour with frothy off white head. Aroma is toasty, nice maltiness, light grassy notes, iron, something bloody/metallic, fruity notes. Taste is malty, toasted notes, light minty flavor, mineral finish. Palate is med bodied, dry roasty finish, medium-low carbonation. Tastes a bit off, but drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500 ml bottle from Les Vignerons. Deep amber/dark sunrise orange, slightly hazy, with a nice, creamy and persistent of-white head. Malty and fruity nose, a hint of citrus, some light nuttiness, grain, slightly roasted overall. Mild yeast influence. Taste pretty much follow suite. Subtle malt bitterness upfront, followed by a bigger, slightly astringent, sugary sweetness. Not as watery as expected and easy to drink, kinda neutral and not so lingering aftertaste, but mainly nutty. Soft carbonation, medium body, slightly creamy texture. Nice.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
50cl swing top bottle pours with a deep copper body that has a slight haze and supports a nice looking light tan head of tight foam. The mild aroma offers up malts, a dash of dark roasted malts, some caramel malts and a faint fruity ester note. The taste starts with lightly roasted malts and crystal malts and then picks up a modest vague hoppiness before it ends with a murmur of caramel malts joining the quickly fading malt to roasted malt notes into the finish. Drinkable.
