hophead_hans (583), Bay Area, California, USA Nov 3, 2006 Draft. Way better than the Uerige. Much better balanced, we have aromas of malts, caramel and molasses, flavors are similar with less of a hoppy bite.
Quite nice.
kappldav123 (1066), Markkleeberg, Germany Jun 9, 2008 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Quite dark, nice head. Tastes malty and dry, a bit scratchy, finish smoky. Well done! Bov (4641), Bienne, Switzerland Jun 6, 2008 from crackedkettle.com - clear dark amber-brown coliur with a dark beige foam; fair earthy aroma with light fruity notes; medium-bodied, some astringence and a decent bitterness, long earthy finish - a very nice altbier Mes_and_Sim (4476), Highgate, Greater London, England May 27, 2008 A Mes rate: Gravity serving at Zeitgeist. Cloudy dark brown with a decent and lasting off white head. Nutty malt that is nice and earthy, good caramel notes with some slight tobacco and candy floss. Strangely dry feeling but somehow not at the same time. A decent alt. Quack-Duck (1829), Bodensee, Germany Feb 9, 2008 bottle, thank you pivnizub! Hazy amber colour with a large and creamy head. Flavours of roasted malt and resiny hops. Hints of bitter chocolate and coffee. Dry and intensively hoppy finish. A very pleasant experience. Geiserich (1540), Vienna, Austria Jan 27, 2008 Bottled: Roast malt aroma with fruity components and hop bittererness. Some notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Brown hazy color, beige creamy head. Fresh, malty flavor with a hint of sweetness and lots of coffee bitterness. Bitter hops in the end making a dry, bitter and long finish. A very bitter but pleasant brew.
