Dobre piwo w stylu francuskim. Belgijskie piwo klasztorne nieco inaczej. Mocno strzela korek spore zmetnienie i brunatny przybrudzony kolor. Mocna i spora piana i pełny smak biszkoptowo-rodzynkowy. Aromat siana i skoszonej trawy. Troche nuty alkoholowej ale tylko w zapachu odczuwalem. Ladna stara stylistyka etykiety.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wine and Cheese in STL. Pours a murky orangish brown appearance with a creamy brown head. Spicy, cinnamon, bready yeasty, burnt bread, blood orange, fruity aroma. Tangy, slightly tart, chewy bready, quite spicy, quite fruity, caramel, richly malty flavor. Overall a touch strong but fairly tasty.

Bottle at Stout 3 & Freestyle Tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy amber with a thick off-white head. The nose is earth, dough, candy, icing sugar and sponge cake. The taste is sponge cake, earth, citrus, metallic, honey, cake, bread and some alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and high carbonation. Interesting and well-balanced. Pretty nice.

Bottle at the Stouts Pt. III & Others Tasting - London. From Dranken Geers. Pours clear, deep and bright gold with a strong, creamy head. Lots of bread and cereal in the nose, hints of hay and sugar. Big sweet flavor, plenty of lightly toasted bread, hints of honey, mellow orange. Medium to full. Bodied with average carbonation. Moderate warmth to finish, lots of bready malts, a bit more honey, white bread, mellow hay bitterness. Nice stuff.

75 cl. traditional green bottle @ home. Porchused from Willems. Very loud pop when opening but no gusher. Cork says 2011 on it – so 2011 Vintage? Pours a cloudy / murky heavily brown amber with a very creamy white head. Smell is incredible, wonderfully EU hoppy, sweet tangerine, biscuit, delicious caramel and sticky toffee, dried orange peel, flowers,… reminds me a bit of the finest fresh Orval bottles I have had. Taste is sweet caramel, dried orange peel, tangerines, light floral, EU hoppy, brown sugar, sticky toffee, alcoholic flourishes, light grass, very fruity, nectar, nectarines,… boozy. Full, perfect carb. Incredible, one of the best I have had so far. Wonder if this beer is always this excellent or I just got lucky because some of the bottles of regular saison I have had, have been one of the finest beers ever, like ever and others were just infected or not as good etc. At this price, I may need to investigate further because this is stellar.

On tap at Toronado. Aroma is rich and malt with a lot of dark fruit notes, vinous with plum and Concord grape juice. Candy-like. Dark golden amber clear with thin lacing head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts malty and slightly sweet. Dark fruit sweetness with mild orange notes and grape juice. Finish is light bitter with good sweet notes and nutty bitterness. Tasty.
