COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Cascadian Dark Ale
Imperial Cascadian is the NW style of this brew. This is a very well balanced, extremely hoppy black ale. It is very reminiscent of a winter ale. Armored fist is a collaboration beer brewed with the good ole boys from Three Floyd’s Brewing out of Chicago.

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe. Pours a very dark brown with an off white head. A little lacing. Aroma has fresh sweet fruit - mango from a black ipa? Also some roasted malt - could give this anywhere from a 6 to a 9. Taste ... well fresh fruit is king. Some maltiness underneath, I’ve never had a dark brew as fruity as this. Not too thick or strong. Finishes sweet and fruity. Certainly a different take on a black ipa. Is this a good saison?

Ruby tinged brown beer, tan head. Nose is citric hops, lots of grapefruity notes, some earth. Flavor is roast with grapefruity hops, oranges, hoppy finish. Long grapefruity aftertaste.

Tap@tcbw15. Black. Piney roasty nose. Med bodied, quite nice bittered, roasty citrus flavour. Malty, roasty, some grains. Excellent black ipa, perhaps not on par though with the others theyve shown this weekend.

Draft at Sixgill. Deep dark pour with khaki head. Big citrus hop-driven aroma - blind I’d call this an ipa. Taste brings that coupled with a lot of roast. More on the ipa side of the CDA here. Drinks more like 8% than 10%. Nice way to finish my long day of drinking.

Get punched in the face by an imperial IPA that smooths out like a stout. Don't like getting punched in the face? Go back to your Budweiser.

Tap@Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen - fuzzy dark brown to black pour with good sized tan head. Prominent roasted malty and piney aroma and taste, some caramel, dark chocolate malts, lots of herbal hoppy notes, solid bitter piney finish. Great stuff.

Tap. Deep brown body with an average, lacing tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, coffee notes, citrus and pine. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and bitter. A very nice Black IPA.
