5000 (6027) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 12, 2013
Draught @ The Burgundian:   Nearly black, a very deep dark brown with deep cola hues, thin to moderate frothy tannish head, sparce lacing.   Roasted malt nose, faint chocolate, a bit ashy.   Pale roasted malts up front, like the nose a little chocolate, with a touch of ashy campfire on the backside.   A light yet flavorful porter.   Low bitterness.   Feels almost like more of an Imperial Schwarzbier instead of a Porter.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   A little milk stout like on the finish.   Lingering roast, ash, and slightly sweet bakers chocolate.   Not bad, very slight tart aspect after the finish.

Salmoniform (245) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - OCT 20, 2013
Poured from tap to glass. Dark black with off-white head. Great carbonation and head lingers well. Aroma is roasted malt, burnt sugars, fruity hops, citrus, and pine. Body is medium-light with a great mouthfeel from the carbonation. Initial malt sweetness but well-rounded and finished with hop bitterness and slight astrigentness from roasted malts. Overall, this is a great brew from Boneyard.

Taster on draught at Boneyard. Opaque black color. Coffee and roasted malt aroma. Taste is black coffee, with a lot of roasted malts and light grassy hops. Dark and full-bodied but not heavy.

Draft at collins. Pours a grainy ebony with a loose tan rim. Nice restrained but dimensional chocolate and roast on the nose. Creamy light side of medium body with lively carb. Roasty chocolatey mid palate. Nice.lightish body, easy to drink, genuinely a porter and not a stout. Good session dark beer.

Tap @ Grain and Gristle... Poured near black with an off-white head. Roasty, a little dry on the palate. Toffee, toasted malts, candied sweetness. Hints of coffee too. Clean, nice drinking, malted grain finish.

MarinaMarket (209) - POULSBO, Washington, USA - OCT 1, 2011
Pours dark red/brown, fairly clear, decent tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, malts, and some legs. Coffee flavor is dominant, but not overly so, notes of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, with clean finish. Medium bodied, easy drinking, with no offensive aftertaste. Really a delicious session beer. Tasted @ 55F from the growler.

Dark and roasty on the nose. Light underlying sweetness, toast, chocolate, earth. Pours dark brown, more or less black with a tannish head. THe flavor is nice and roasty throughout, coffee undertones, soft sweetness, chocolate in the finish with a cleaner than average crispness to round it out. Well put together. Roasty, schwarz.
