COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This West Coast style Pale Ale is brewed for a big hoppy finish. Golden to copper in color. The malts used to create the beer will balance nicely with some of the Yakima Valleyís most bonafide hop varieties: Cascade, Centennial & Chinook. The floral aroma should jump out of the glass thanks to the copious quantities of hops used in the dry hop process. If you are a "hop head", hop on!!!

Pours hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, grape, floral and caramel. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long caramel, citrus and floral finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Flight pour on tap at the brewery tap room (Bend, Or). Pours a pale decent hazed golden straw hue. Dulled, darker, mellow bubbles with frothy offwhite head that laces nicely as a mellow film, thicker ringer. Aromas are fruity and hoppy, grapefruit and guava meet a jab of pineapple, earth, and clean malt sweetness. Fruity, lively, mellow. Initial is mellow bodied, subtle fruit and nice bitterness that is fairly bright. Starfruit, pineapple, tropical melange with sufficient bitterness. Nothing overdone but fairly potent and enjoyable. Clean, fruity and flavorful without being big or sweet. Firm hops without being really bitter. Tasty.

Pours a chill hazed golden orange on tap with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of big floral citrus hop notes and slight biscuit malt. Taste follows with some piney notes added and a crisp, dry finish. Mild bitterness, good carbonation, solid pale.

Sample on tap at Whatís Brewing BF, Stavanger. APA is normally a style I love, but this one was a bit run-of-the-mill, and not very complex, with a rather sharp and slightly unpleasant bitterness in the finish. Watery mouthfeel.

My reason for ordering this beer goes threefold. Number one: Iím at Brews Almighty and this is the last beer on their tap list that is not on my rated list. Number two: Chris (Prufrockstar) has practically called this a godsend pale and he has excellent taste and judgement. Three: Boneyard is some good shit. I stopped by their little garage brewery a couple years ago and since they expanded, itís been on my to do list to return. The beer. Pours a golden copper color with a big bubble head. Poured into the signature Brews Almighty plastic cup. Yay for recycling. Soft aroma of piney hops. Flavor is heavy pine and earthy hop. Bitter comes in late and lingers. Has a larger than expected sweetness throughout. Bolder flavor and bitter. Less my style of pale for sure but I wouldnít call it bad. Chris, Iíll give you a mulligan on this one.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2015 32 oz growler from Bobs. Enjoyed it so much on Friday that i grabbed another on Saturday, and filled it again yesterday. Tonight Iíll likely do the same. Slightly hazy pale amber pour with creamy white head, great retention and lacing. Aroma is full bouquet of citrus and tropical fruits. Taste is fresh and juicy, hop-driven with restrained bitterness, underpinned by lean bread/cracker malt backdrop. Light body, oily texture, unbelievably refreshing. I could drink this by the gallon. Damn this is delicious.

update: Iíve crushed so many growlers of this, and Iím hitting another one right now. Itís as close to my perfect American pale ale as Iíve found. Iím bumping it even higher than the previous 4.2, because it deserves it.
