Pours dark yellow, almost peachy, with a finger of white head. Smell is resinous hops. Taste is citrus and grapefruit. Amazingly drinkable. Damned good ipa.

On tap at APEX in Portland, OR. Dark orange pour with a light white head. Very nice pineapple and grapefruit aroma. Citrusy, fruity flavor again of pineapple and grapefruit with a light amount of sweet malt. An amazing DIPA.

Huge thanks to boralyl for shooting this growler out my way. Served in a Mikasa tulip. Pours a clear golden color with a nice white head. Pretty good retention for a growler with a bit of lacing on the way down. The nose carries some really nice tropical and citrus notes. Hops are very, very prominent with not much else coming through the background. Flavor is similarly hop-centric, though not quite as intense as the nose. Great hop additions here, carrying seamlessly through the dry, bitter finish. Really a nice brew; I look forward to trying more from them.

Draft, clear vibrant orange, frothy white head. Aroma of tons of citrus-pineapple, orange, tangerine, also mango, honeysuckle. Taste is more resinous, still lots of citrus, great balance of bitter/floral/citrus hop and malts. Medium body and carbonation. Very very good. This could easily rival the best of DIPA’s.

Growler shared with friends. Mild bitterness throughout. Lots of citrus notes. Big caramel background. A bit sticky and sweet as it warms. Bitterness seems to fade away at the end.

Tasted on tap at the 12th Bistro Double IPA Festival on 2/11/2011. This Imperial IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is grapefruity, malty. Fruity and sweet. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. Touch of tropical and apricots. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Nice carbonation. Good balance. Touch of tropical. Medium bitterness constant throughout the taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

On tap @ Parkway on 16Feb, then again at Red Hot on 19Feb. Seemed slightly thinner, crisper the second time around. Awesome from start to finish. Medium body, lively, astringent, amber, clear, white foam, very reminiscent of Pliny, especially the aroma. Interesting that the older ratings here are just mediocre but all recent are very good - has Boneyard mixed it up a bit? Whatever, it’s great now!

crackedmachine (298) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 19, 2012
On tap at Uber. Pours a transparent, golden-orange with a small, off-white head. Excellent, strong hop aroma, heavy on citrus and grapefruit, along with some caramel sweetness. Flavor follows suit with tons of fruity citrus, just enough sweetness, and not much bitterness. An outstanding DIPA.

Draft at Uber. Pours a brilliantly crystal clear bright gold with a thick and fluffy platinum blonde head. Amazingly transparent for such a big beer. Explosively forward grapefruit and floral nose, redolent and oily. Creamy medium body, surprisingly crisp for such a beast. Toast, caramel, grapefruit, and tons of spicy floral notes on the mid palate, with a crisp resiny grapefruit rind finish. Good stuff.

On tap at Parkway Tavern, pours a hazy golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of resinous hops and loads of caramel malt. Flavour of rich herbal and resinous hops, backed with a big caramel malt backbone. Full-bodied and hopilicious. Extremely well-crafted double IPA.
