4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 authenticmead (46) - West Coast, Oregon, USA - SEP 19, 2012I discovered, always on tap at mainbrew.com! Next to Firestone Walker’s Double Jack, this is probably the best double IPA out there; it is a Pliny killer! Love the citrus and flower aroma and flavors. The palate is so, so smooth and you’d never know that this is a 10% abv beer at first. Boneyard does an amazing job at controlling harsh bitterness, there is nothing harsh about this beer at all, but it has all the hops you could ever want. The malts are very well balanced with a subtle toastiness that complements the high hop level. I highly recommend!

From a grenade. P: Has nice peach amber color with a big white cap of foam which dispences late on. S: Grapefruit, orange zest, passion fruit, onion, with some fruity notes. T: This is a big DIPA, citrus, flesh hop juice, nectarines, big sweet malt to tame the juice and sligh alcohol. M: Slky and thin with mild bitterness. O: Pretty good, this reminded of ipa’s like hop 15, and hop shortage in the that this is big. I wont trade for this againg but I hope to see cans one day.

Swing-top growler at home with my, courtesy of Joe. Big thanks for this one man!!! Pour is murky amber with a cream-colored head with tons of lacing sticking to the glass. Sweet fruits, orange peel, grapefruit, somewhat citrusy, caramelly, bready, zesty, a touch of grass, and biscuit in the aroma. Taste is huge hops - grassy, weedy, resin, yet fruity, grapefruit, orange peel - caramel backbone - though not too sweet - bready, biscuity, and zesty with a huge bitter finish. Sticky, almost gelatinous mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Nice IPA, and better than most PNW IPAs I have had - clean, hoppy, and bitter, yet not overly harsh and crazy smooth for 10%. Damn solid offering.

On tap at Apex
A: Cloudy blood orange. Restful off-white head. Washes the glass.
N: Deliciously full. Spruce needles, pineapple, and mango. Malts add an inviting base. Some onion adds zest.
T: Pure delight. Beep, lush hops lend grapefruit, pineapple, earth, and spruce. Has a pleasant balancing sweetness. Onion and marijuana.
M: Sticky and drying, yet never steps over the line where I tire of it.
O: I’m an unabashed Boneyard lover, and I’m not afraid to admit it. This beer is so expertly balanced, it’s difficult to describe. Or maybe not worth describing because I’m so busy drinking it.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dogbrick (6014) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 10, 2013
On draught at Yard House Seattle. The beer pours a clear amber-orange color with a medium bone white head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is citrusy with notes of toasted malt and florals. Full, chewy body with flavors of grassy hops, grapefruit and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering fruity hops aftertaste. Solid all around.

Orange pour with a white head. Enormous citrus aroma of orange, grapefruit, and orange. Some nice bright pineapple aromas, floral hops, and a bit of pine. Minimal malt sweetness to the flavor, great orange and grapefruit, and some pineapple. Moderate pine flavor with a decent bitterness and a surprisingly dry finish. Awesome stuff.

Beautiful citrus/hop aroma. Hazy sunset orange with full, large bubbled white head. Taste of citrus, grapefruit and fresh meadow. Bitterness pronounced but well balanced by the malt. Juicy finish.
