4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Orange pour with a white head. Enormous citrus aroma of orange, grapefruit, and orange. Some nice bright pineapple aromas, floral hops, and a bit of pine. Minimal malt sweetness to the flavor, great orange and grapefruit, and some pineapple. Moderate pine flavor with a decent bitterness and a surprisingly dry finish. Awesome stuff.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler... Mostly-clear yellow pour with a small, creamy, white head. The hop-driven nose is musky, dank and fruity – apricot or peach or pluot or all three. Medium to full-bodied and lightly creamy with dancing carbonation. The flavor and finish are both bitter and biting. Growler courtesy of ctipping!

Bottle @ Stephen’s house, courtesy of Steve_0. Thanks! Pours a hazy orange appearance with a white head. Pretty spicy, light cat pee, mild pineapple, herbal, a bit grassy aroma. A bit chewy, orange creamsickle, quite herbal, a bit goopy, citrusy, slightly grassy flavor. Pretty tasty.

Tap at Boneyard and Growler at a tasting. Low haze golden pour with thicker white foam, good lacing. Nose is sweaty, salty, dank hops, flashes of cinnamon. Taste is sticky fruit juice, cantaloupe, fresh pineapple. Thick, dense palate that isn’t abrasive, sugary, nutty, tannic, cheesy or any of the other myriad of things that go awry with DIPAs.

On draught at Yard House Seattle. The beer pours a clear amber-orange color with a medium bone white head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is citrusy with notes of toasted malt and florals. Full, chewy body with flavors of grassy hops, grapefruit and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering fruity hops aftertaste. Solid all around.

Tap at Produce Row Cafe, Portland 07/11/12 (Thank’s to Jessie for tracking this fantastic beer down for me !).
Had first sip LBOW ! Bitter hop assualt !!!
Lightly hazed amber with a thin white head which retains well. Good lacing follows.
Nose is a big fuck off pine smash to the nostrils, hops, bitter grapefruit, light mango.
Tastes of bitter grapefruit, pine forward, hops, a dirty great pine kick in the teeth, light mineral tones.
Surprisingly medium in body for double figures ABV with soft carbonatoin leading to a bitter finish.
Excellent DIPA, doesn’t come much better. Would like to try this side by side with Pliny, reckon Pliny may drop a point or two and hop Venom may well rise to the top!

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café: Orangish straw, pale haze, moderate frothy white head, nice lacing. Big pithy and piny nose. Similar tongue, a little green. A little dank, but mainly fresh pith and citrus peel. Light sweetness, not overly bitter. Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full. Very clean finish, lingering citrus based items, pith and peel. Overally a very bright citrusy example of an IIPA.

From haggerty growler. Pours light amber with a decent off-white head and a very pleasant sweet citrus aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor that starts sweet then turns quite bitter.
