3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hoptimist (99) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 6, 2010Solid hop presence here with resin, citrus and pineapple notes held in check with some caramel malt sweetness. Copper orange color with a touch of haze. Frothy and long lasting light tan head. Medium+ bitterness underscored by pine and citrus, accentuated with pineapple. Medium malt sweetness. Medium body and lively carb. Bitter attack, bitter middle, bitter finish. Actually the malt sweetness makes an appearance or two as it comingles with the hop madness. Long semi-dry finish. Cricky texture. Rev it up!

Great Beer. No off flavors. Hoppy but not bitter. Definitely one of the best beers on the west coast. Can’t wait to see what else they pump out.

Growler at home courtesy of Joe, thanks buddy!!! Pour is hazy copper with a big cream head and great lacing. Weedy, resiny, grapefruity aroma - caramel, biscuit, light grass, and bread. Taste is grassy, weedy, biscuity, resinous, caramelly, somewhat citrusy, and orange peel with a big bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel with medium-to-soft carbonation. Tasty IPA, but I expected a little more out of this one.

On tap at restaurant in Portland. Nice amber body with medium head. Nose is hoppy with fruit notes of pineapple and citrus in evidence. Taste is good and hoppy with citrus and fruit flavours coming through. A bit too fruity for me though.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ericdevin (241) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - APR 5, 2013
Draft at 16 Tons Cafe + Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a slightly cloudy orange, aroma is citrus, specfically grapefruit. Body is fresh, clean and sharp, finish slightly grassy, moderate bitterness, little warming, even at this ABV (which has gone down to 7.0 since the entry was created). A very nice IPA, quite drinkable, even if its complexity is a bit lacking.

On tap at Clocktower. Orange pour with an off white top. Scent is floral, pine and citrus. Taste is pine, citrus, very hoppy. Imagine this is much better fresh.

Sample at the Tap House Grill in Seattle. Hazed amber pour with a medium off-white head that recedes slowly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, tropical fruit and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character and notes of ripe fruit and bready malt. The finish is hoppy with a citrus aftertaste. Above average overall.
