4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 savnac (2064) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUL 1, 2011
On tap @ Boneyard. Light golden amber with a small, sticky white head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruit, pine and very light caramel malt. Flavor is plenty bitter with lots of hop flavor and a mild malt character. Medium body with average carbonation and a dry, clean mouth feel. Great IPA, drinks like a 5% abv beer.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 PhillyCraft (1993) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2013
Growler pour compliments of Frank shared with some bro’s in Manayunk. Pours a pumpkin orange with medium white head, Aromas and taste of juicy, tropical hops, butter, tangerine, piney resins, and light malt. Body was medium, carbonation was soft. Excellent IPA that I could sess on for days. Need more!

My first Boneyard beer and this is good. Nice medium hit of bitterness with some fruit notes pulling through like citrus and tropical. Nicely balanced.

Draft at the Pine Box. Hazy orange-brown, mild foam head. Rich citrus nose. Hops, mango juice, tropical. Smooth, medium sticky body. Bittering is sweet and fruity. Awesome fresher hop IPA, with one of the best aromas I can remember. Super tasty.

Poured into a snifter.
3.5 A: Lightly hazed light orange color. Small white frothy head.
5.0 S: Smells amazing. Intense tropical fruitiness with pineapple leading the pack and mango, papaya, and melon coming after.
4.0 T: Taste isn’t the same intensity as the nose. Fruits mentioned are still there, just not as much of them. Light yeasty breadiness and light neutral maltiness.
4.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Reasonably creamy and super smooth.
4.5 D: Damn good beer with an incredible nose.
Serving type: growler

Growler at home courtesy of Joe, thanks buddy!!! Pour is hazy copper with a big cream head and great lacing. Weedy, resiny, grapefruity aroma - caramel, biscuit, light grass, and bread. Taste is grassy, weedy, biscuity, resinous, caramelly, somewhat citrusy, and orange peel with a big bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel with medium-to-soft carbonation. Tasty IPA, but I expected a little more out of this one.

Another above exemplary PNW IPA yet another reason for me to branch out. Golden color. Fruity hop aroma, and flavor is very citrusy though a little lacking in malt balance. Alcohol a little too detectable for 7.5%.

On tap at Brouwer’s. Not sure this one lives up to some of these ratings. Orange pour, with a smallish head, and a nose that’s certainly hop-forward, but doesn’t give much of a fresh punch. They’re right on in citing tropical fruits in the flavor -- pineapple is definitely apparent, and that makes this a bit more intriguing... but it’s still fairly, well, standard. Definitely decent. But not great.

An alright IPA. I enjoyed it well enough. So far I am pleased with Boneyard Beer Co.’s arsenal.
