3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draught at Roscoe’s Stout Summit 2/23/13. Caramel, chocolate aroma. Semi-sweet chocolate flavor. Warming effect, but not as intense as the 14% ABV would let on.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Super dark pour with a deep brown head. Flavors of fudge, molasses, raisin, some coffee and molasses. Pretty damn good. More drinkable than dark lord IMO.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On draft at the Livermore Saloon. It pours black with a tan head. The aroma is vanilla, mocha coffee and bourbon. VERY sweet. The flavor is thick like a milkshake with bourbon, cocoa, roasted malt and intense bitterness in the finish. A real bruiser, but fun and enjoyable.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Belmont Station. Pours a pure jet black color with a small brown head. A massive sugary dark fruit nose. The flavor is big roasted malts, huge oily fruit, sugary sweet, essence of prune. Viscous. Damn good. Boneyard lives up to the hype.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler. Wow! Thanks b! Pours jet black with a dense and creamy dark tan head. Big heavy nose with soy sauce, liquorice, roast, and campfire. It’s everything at once. Creamy sticky thick body with soft carb. Roast, campfire, soy sauce, and anise on the mid palate. Long dark dry roasty finish. Quite good, no matter who it has clipped.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Massive imperial stout. But too sweet. I guess they needed to make it sweet to cover the alcohol. But Jesus, just globs of sweet. I still enjoyed this, which is an impressive feat. But overall it's too much.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at 16 tons. Finally tracked this damn thing down.
A: Black metal with a very thin whisp of mocha head. Great staining legs.
N: A lot of thick fudge, chocolate, and a well blended espresso mix. Some lactose and caramel. There’s some leather and tobacco, which is faint, and black licorice. Some raisin, dark cherry and raspberry.
T: Smooth dark chocolate and coffee bitterness mixed with a non cloying sugary nature.
M: Slick and oily. Very heavy. Alcohol isn’t as potent as percent would suggest, though it is there.
O: A really solid beer that balances the hoppiness and malt with aplomb. I’m a Boneyard homer and I’m not ashamed.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep brown, clear, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, toffee, licorice. Flavor of big bready, toffee, chocolate malts, roast is very restrained. Big, chewy, tasty, very restrained roast for an imperial stout.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap. Black with a fluffy light brown head. Sweet dark chocolate and roasted grain aroma and taste with a mild bitterness, caramel, and light vanilla notes and finishing roasty and dry. Well hidden alcohol for a 14%. Full bodied somewhat sugary palate.
