Brimstone? You mean fire and brimstone> What could this award-winning, Belgian-style Tripel have to do with divine punishment? Taste it. See how three times the malt brings three times the pleasure? That’s divine. Now, did you detect each of the unique spices and esters working their magic? No? Your punishment is to have another sip.

nice golden pour sticky head. Nose is nice. Bread as flower some caramel and marshmallow with a light sourdough yeast. Strange taste though. Creamy and light mouthfeel. Soap and peroxide. Quite yeasty and herbal. Cheese rind and peppercorn. Mustard seed and rye. But the soap taste is slightly off putting

750 ml bottle thanks to Skyview, thanks much for the opportunity! Mostly clear yellow with light retention in the snifter. Aroma is Belgian inspired yeast, lemons and sweet grain. Light fruit hints.

The flavor is mostly the aroma. Sweet grain, pale malts, yeast with some plastic. Kind of a strange off flavor in the aftertaste. The only way I can describe it is plastic. Texture is soft with a crisp feeling. If the brewery can refine this beer, it would be good. Something is just slightly off. The base elements are good.

4 oz. pour as part of an 8-beer flight, on tap at the brewery’s taproom. Labeled as "Boom Island Brimstone Abdij Tripel." Pours an effervescent, clear, bright gold with a large amount of long-lasting, nearly white head. Looks good. Aroma of orange, vanilla, salt, and potpourri. Complex smell. Sweet and pleasant taste features apple, white grape juice, and white wine flavors as well as honey and green grape. Medium to full body. Easy to drink. A good and enjoyable beer overall, though not outstanding by the standards of the style.

Big boy bottle poured questionably into a water glass at Anchor Fish & Chips before the best fish & chips in town. Golden straw like color with very little head. Aroma is faint but spicy. Taste is pretty impressive bringing a spicy, malty balance to a hit of hops. Enjoy the mouthfeel of this one and appreciate its finish. A very good representation of a tripel when you consider how far away Mpls is from Belgium. Recommended.

Bottle. Light gold, straw color. Some haziness. Subtle aroma. Spicy, slightly fruity, with the right amount of alcohol taste. Crisp. Not as complex as I would have hoped, nor as long lasting in flavor. Very happy with this in general.

Typical Beligian style for me here. Decent but nothing to consider myself being "punished" for.

Yum! One of my all time favorites. Lovely color, nutty, with a crisp finish.

Autumn Brew Review 2012. A fair amount of hops in this tripel. Sweet with yeast, but lacks the complexity of the best tripels. Well carbonated, and dark gold color. Solid tripel.

750ml bottle from Atom, thanks Adam! Pours a cloudy, golden-yellow-orange colored body with a thin, fizzy, off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, bready and grainy, pale malts with a good amount of yeasty spices and lemony, floral fruits. White pepper, a light coriander, and some apricot notes as well. Flavor is similar. Fairly fruity and spicy up front with some lemon, apricot, pepper, and coriander with a touch of banana phenol. Slightly sweet, bready and grainy, pale maltiness to balance in the middle before this gets a tad thin in a dry finish. Light bitterness with a nice mix of spice, fruit, and lightly sweetened pale malts before leaving a fairly lengthy aftertaste with some alcohol warmth. Medium-light body and a lively carbonation. Overall, not a bad tripel. Nice balance between the spices, fruit, and malts with a pleasant dry finish, but just a tad thin at the end. Not overly complex, but enjoyable.

Pours a cloudy lemon gold with frothy white head. Aroma is lemon, bread , almond . Flavor is alcohol, sugar and bread. Body is creamy with active carbonation.
