COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by a mythical, giant-killing soldier we’re tempted to say this gold medal winning pale ale will slay you with its palate-boggling depth of flavors and surprisingly dry finish. Bet we’re not big on wordplay or swordplay. So we’ll just let Silvius speak for itself.

Tap. Pint glass. Light copper with small white head. Weird aroma, and taste has an off sourness and bad beer taste. Dissapointing.

6/06/13, On tap in a shaker pint at Famous Dave's Calhoun Square. Color was appealing golden, hardly any aroma. Very Miller Lite like which is SHOCKING for a Belgian Style craft beer. No head on the pour. Off night, pour, keg, batch? Extremely mild. This is a pale ale for light beer devotees. The beer is adequate but not inspiring enough for me to order another. Final verdict: Meh... ---Rated via the Gridfather

Interesting pale ale. Belgium notes come through. Hops a little weak but its drinkable

Pours a dark gold with good-sized, lingering head. Aroma is floral, spruce. Flavor is also hop floral, with a kind of unpleasant, sour bite to it. This isn’t your usual pale ale. More like a Belgian abbey ale. Not bad, just not my favorite.

On tap. Head is fairly thick and sticks around. Amber color. Spice on the nose and the taste have some definite uniqueness points from the spice.

750 ml. bottle. Thanks Jeffrey! Pours a dark gold with a nice off-white head. Aroma of fruit, yeast, and malt. Taste is tropical fruits, yeast, malt, and florals. OK.

Golden--looks pretty standard. This wasn’t at all pleasing to me. Murky, vegetal malts with a tempered American hop profile. Low astringency (good) but otherwise a mashup of unattractive features. Not my kind of beer, but perhaps some people love it. (on tap, Groveland Tap, St. Paul)

Pours a clear orange with a healthy finger and a half of white head (into a pint glass). Aroma is piney, sour hops, a tinge of malt sweetness, and that oh-so-familiar live belgian yeast aroma. Taste is distinctly malty. Definitely very bready, with a hint of spice kind of like a soft pizza crust. A non-descript hop bitterness balances. Very creamy mouthfeel. Not a bad beer, but I’d like to see it go down a bit in price.

Bottle shared at Exira Beer Summit 2012. Thanks to adnielsen for sharing. Pours a dark golden orange color with big white head. Very foamy. Slightly malty, but metallic flavor. Caramel malt, slight alcohol flavors. Quite metallic in aroma and flavor. Not a great pale ale.
