lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium Jul 2, 2006 Vintage 2004. Graet deep-red color, copperisch and with a warm orange glow. Nice white, slight pinkish head leaving a fine lacing. Very fruity and expressive aroma with hints of sweet apple, red forrest berries, cherries, mullberries and overripe raspberries. It also has touches of musty tree bark, sous bois, some mint, old bourgundy wine, nectarine peaches and refreshing hops in the nose. The taste is fruity and keeps a good balance between sweet fruits (Berries, apples, and ripe stonefruits) the herbal bitters and the complex earthy accents. The afthertaste is very tastefull and the beer has a nice soury crispyness that counters the sweetness of the ripe red fruits and the refreshing herbalness of the well dosed hops. It has a great potential to age. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jul 1, 2006 Updated: Jul 2, 2006Bottle (750ml 1997 vintage). Shared with GregClow, tupalev, DougShoemaker, mds, Radek and others. Poured murky deep amber-orange with a small drizzly off-white head, tons of black seed-like floaties. Oh gawd, what a lovely aroma - initially fresh creamy raspberries, richly yeasty, a little dusty and a hint of sourness creeping in with peppery yeast notes as it warmed - this is 9 years old? Wow. The taste was pretty much the same, fresh berries, a bit creamy and funky, very yeasty, a little sticky-sweet to start but it finishes with some bitterness. Has a thick, creamy, sticky, syrupy mouthfeel - a wonderful treat, thanks for the share of your last bottle from a long-hoarded case of ’97, Dave S. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 14, 2006 Updated: Jul 3, 2006Bottle. 1997 vintage. Pours a murky dark orange with seeds and floaties abound and a small white head. The aroma has a crazy amount fruit substance - the juiciness/jamminess is astounding. The flavour has plenty of raspberry character as well considering the age...quite full and jammy with some grassy funkiness. Slightly sticky but generally balanced. (8-4-8-4-16)
Bottle. 2004 vintage. Murky red-brown with a small whitish ring of head. The aroma is ketchupy and there is a lot of raspberry substance with some juicy/syrupy sweetness. The sweetness in the flavour is apparent at first and is somewhat candyish but also has cereal and wheat elements. Lacks a true complexity. Good but not spectacular.

Consumed at the Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation, Opstal, May 2006 (2 years cellared) Murky purple and unsaturated red hued body. Nose is a sensational experience of seedy, woody raspberries, creamy and full in the nose. Prickly, peppery tasting, some brash and medicinal flavors, but the flavor just doesn’t like up to the nose, which is stellar. Creamy, milky framboise, I guess I would call this. Very good. chriso (4685), London, Greater London, England Jun 8, 2006 Bottle, 2000 Vintage at Plan B, RBESG, August 2005. Nice clear pink colour. Plenty of fruit, with a farmyardy edge, on the nose. Quite fruity flavour, sweetish and not too sour. A pleasant, relatively easy drinking lambic.
HenrikSoegaard (4264), Randers, Denmark May 29, 2006 Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Red colour. Moderate hoppy aroma, raspberry notes ofcourse, but not overwealming. Moderate bitter finish. Nice oily palate, but I was a bit dissapointed about this beer. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark Apr 18, 2006 Bottle. Amber and reddish in colour with a huge head. Slightly sour and woody in flavour. Very fruity and a little to sweet for my taste. highlandlad (1258), Sydney, Australia Mar 1, 2006 This Belgian fruit lambic reminded me a lot of a good rose wine. It’s a little too sweet for general drinking IMO, but I could imagine serving it with ice cream on a hot summer day, or sipping it like champagne on a moonlit balcony with a hot babe (yes Kristen, I mean you). It was a muddy cherry colour with a light lather of foam. The raspberries are prominent in the aroma, alongside sour-sweet cherries. Spritzy, champagne-like palate. Very sweet and sugary on the tongue, but fairly well balanced by fruity acids. Faint toffee and oak. Very easy drinking. (Duff homecoming gathering - thanks Duff for bringing this one)
