COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Framboise Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh raspberries (25%) and wildcherries (5%)are used for this Lambic beer. Framboise Boon is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses. NO artificial sweeteners, flavourings, preservatives or colouring agents. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name.

375, corked and baled. 2010 cracked 2013. Thanks B! Pours a hazy mauvish-pink. You know that purple-pink color framboises get. Fizzy light pink head. Nose smells a bit synthetic and backsweetened, but not totally off-putting. Fizzy medium body, tons of carb. synthetic syrup-concentrate raspberry taste, a little mineral funk, a little carbonic bite. Dry body/sweetish finish.

Bottled, BB 4/15/14. Poured rosy amber with a short off-white head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet raspberries paired with leather, lemon zest, and dried cherries.. light undercurrents of hay and oxidation.. solid. The flavor found tangy raspberry seeds and oak on the tip of the tongue, with sweeter fruits and a touch of pale malt behind.. dry and lightly funky throughout.. finished even drier, with nice tanginess from the berries.. tasty. Lighter-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. a tad sweeter than I wanted, but it was mighty approachable.. I’d have another.

Draft sample @ Boon during TdG ’13. The pour’s deep purple with a small pink head. Very sweet raspberries on the nose. Quite vibrant and sweet. The taste is slightly watery Swedish fish and sweet shop raspberry candy. Hints of tangy sourness. Very simple. Light body, not unpleasant. Overall, decent.

2011 crop. Cork popped out on its own spilling a bit of framboise on my floor. Head: ping, sparking pink, fast disappearing. Colour: ruby (raspberry and cherry). Aroma: sharp yeasty, almost chemical. Raspberry hardly passes through by the time your reach the bottom. Taste is very sour and slightly bitter. Finish is astringent. Would love more fruitiness to balance out the sourness.

Toer de Geuze 2013 Not the best framboise but a good one. Its sour aftertaste saves the case.

Bottle 37,5 cl, BBE 21.06.2016. Pours clear dark red in color with a frothy pinkish head. Raspberries and notes of funk and some (sweet) cherries perhaps in aroma. Tart mouthfeel. Some sour raspberries in flavor but also some more sweeter fruitier indications are to be found in taste. Pleasant mix between the sour and sweet. Easy to drink. Nice and long-lasting rasberry in aftertaste.
