Bottle @ home. Pours a reddish orange, transparent appearance with an off-white head. Sweet raspberries with some sweetness but not much sourness. Flavor is a somewhat dull raspberry flavor that’s slightly sour. Fizzy, carbonated mouth feel. The raspberry flavor is a little syrupy and tastes slightly artificial even though they do use some real raspberries in the beer. Not of my favorite framboise lambics.

[3/1/11] Bottle at a friend’s house in Amsterdam. Clear deep red-ruby with a pinkish head. Aroma of sweet raspberries, sugary candi-ish notes, some barnyard and light medicinal hints. Sour-sweet flavor with raspberries, sugar, some funky notes, citric hints and a slightly astringent light bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied.

750 ml bottle. Looks like carbonated cranberry juice. Basement like aroma. Flavor is tart raspberry with a bit of yeasty/wheat body. Somewhat carbonated, a bit too acidic. Great example of the style.

Tasted on 3/6/11 from a 375mL bottle at Lush West Town. Pours clear ruby red with a thin pink head that recedes to thin lace, and shortly dissipates all together. The nose is tons of raspberry: fresh, macerated, and syrup are all present, along with just a hint of hay and a bit of vanilla oak. The flavor has some sweetness, with the combination of fresh, macerated, and raspberry syrup, with the hay and oak coming through more prominently than on the nose. There is also a bit of tartness on this one. I wouldn’t say sour, but tart describes it perfectly. The body is light with very lively carbonation and a medium tart raspberry finish.

Aroma dominated by raspberries but also tinged with a yeastiness. The beer appears murky. I was expecting something more raspberry but this is very brown. The taste is not syrupy and it lingers long after the swallow. It’s not lindemans but it ain’t bad.

Quick review; Wow, an awsome blend both in aroma and flavour of fresh raspberries and lambic; Fresh raspberries, some strawberrie notes and sweet red berryjam vs. dough, yeast, sour fruit and barnyard. This is the best fruit lambic from Frank Boon!

Tap@brasserie 4:20. Resin aroma. Clear light yellow. Sour but okay DTU finish of undefined fruit flavour. Not my kind of style but this was a pleasant surprise.
