UPDATED: JAN 12, 2010 2004 VERSION, 750ml bottle: Misting, not fully opaque orange-pink with a slim lacing pink head that does not dissipate. Suberb, dribble-making fresh fruit, wet oak and tobacco aroma. Taste-wise, pitched brilliantly between sweet and sour like a glass of champagne ringed with raspberry flavoured sugar, the freshness of fruit and absence of syrup unlike any framboise/bozen I’ve had, unbelievably vivid considering its 6 years old. Tastes like its just fallen off the branches. Creamy vanilla and tart apple back notes, distant mildew, a hint of bitterness but the sweet-sourness of the fruit dominates. Raspberry pavlova and champagne-ade. Can’t feel the alcohol at all. Sank virtually a full 750ml bottle New Year’s Eve like it was Ribena and lemonade, with no noticeable side effects. Until 2010, anyway. Right up there. A really classy way to kick off the NY proceedings and kiss goodbye to 2009. 948516. 2006 VERSION, 250ml bottle: Murky..well, raspberry with a fine off white halo. Seriously nose-ravishing raspberry jam aroma with a hint of tobacco. That’s a 9. Sweet and sharp with little but the natural taste of the fruit, raspberry pavlova and some dried tea notes. Lush framboise/bozen with no spoiling chemical flavours, enough of a lambic undercurrent to be interesting, but maybe just a cube too much sugar. 947414.

750 ml bottle marked 2006. Dark purple color with a medium white head, scant lacing. Lots of fruit in the aroma, with an edge of dustiness. Flavor starts sweet and stays sweeter than expected, with not much complexity; nice dry finish. Decent body. An OK framboise, if you like them on the sweet side.

A pretty simple and straightforward raspberry lambic, a bit more lively and sweeter than I expected. Fruit background with some sourness. Not bad.

Pours a light orange hue with a sustaining thin layer of white foam. Nose is apples, pears, peaches, big barnyard funk with a slight lactic sour kick. Flavor is light fruits and beers up front followed by a bittering and lactic sourness thy quickly fades, a bit of funk and grassy chalk fills out the drying finish. Medium body, watery thin texture, mild carbonation. A solid fruit lambic with lasting tart puckerness but short-lived fruit flavors, good example of the style.

Poured from 37.5cl bottle into a Tumbler glass. A cloudy dark red body with a bubbly pink head that dissipates to a very stable collar of foam. Nose is strong raspberries, creamy vanilla and subdued Brett yeasts. Palate is light bodied with a lively mouthfeel and strong flavours of sweet raspberries before finishing with a gentle lambic lemony sourness. Aftertaste is a return to syrupy sweetness. A good "beginners" example of the style without the horrible artificial sweetness of the more commercial fruit lambics.

From bottle at ’t Brugs Beertje. Nice raspberry aroma to this with a bit of acetic acid character. Fruity and tart nose, with a hint of sweetness, mainly sour. Dark ruby red clear with lacing pink head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. starts with nice raspberry sweet flavor with underlying acidic tang. Not as vinegary as nose suggests but its nowhere as sweet as Lindemans. A bit watery in flavor but nicely balanced. Good fruit lambic but not as complex as Cantillon.

It smells like carbonated cranberry juice with beer added into it. A dark red with some head and particulates. The fruit taste is not too overpowering and the palate reminds me of ginger ale and cranberry juice, or something like that. Its a bit too crazy, not really a beer, more like a carbonated fruit beverage with alcohal.

Pours Red with a tall pink head. Smells like Rasberry juice. Very sour, low carbonation and a sour aftertaste. I don’t like it.
