Framboise Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh raspberries (25%) and wildcherries (5%)are used for this Lambic beer. Framboise Boon is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses. NO artificial sweeteners, flavourings, preservatives or colouring agents. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name.

75cl bottle. Pours a hazed red color with some black floaties. Aromas of smashed raspberries with seeds, raspberry jam. No sourness or funk detected in the nose. Taste is pretty simple... Slightly sweet but with no funk or lactic components. Not sour, not even tart. Just very plain, sugar free raspberry jam taste. Finishes very bland. It’s ok.

Rating #4000. Amber-brown, unfiltered body. Opens with a mini-pop...lacks much carbonation, some soda head persists. Big natural raspberry flavors are quite nice, but this isn’t cutting it for a lambic..I don’t really get any sour tones at all. The cherry tones are apparent once I’ve been enlightened to their existence. Seems to have really suffered from age, no vivacious liveliness. Still an enjoyable beverage, but hard to rate it high. I would still drink this every day of my life. Equal parts raspberry juice and beer. This is what lambic tasted like in the 90s.

1/20/2014. 750 ml. corked and caged bottle. Pours clear red with a short pink head. Aromas are all yeast and raspberry. Not as tart as I would have expected, but with nice fruit flavors and a bitter finish.
