on draught @ Brussels 9th Belgian Beer weekend. pours clear light red with almost pink head. nose is sweet raspberries. flavor is pretty sweet and something off, raspberries, and an odd wood or earthy note, ahh, i can’t get into this. syrupy fake raspberry flavor with fizzy mouth feel and unpleasant finish.

Hazy red body with an off white head. Obviously has a raspberry aroma right off the bat. Sour flavor with raspberry and a little bit of beer taste. Some slight alcohol in the taste as well. As my mother said, this doesn’t really taste like beer at all, but it certainly does taste good.

A thin white forms, especially thin considering the vigorous pour intended to rouse a larger foamy topping. Large bubbled, it fades slowly and only partially. The body is a translucent, dark, rusty orange with red hues, colors normally seen in a mountain sunset. Soft, slowly-flowing carbonation gives this a serene appearance. The aroma is of sultry raspberries, both intense and jammy like a mid-range Australian Shiraz. Light notes of brettanomyces sneak out but are squelched on the way out by sweet sugars and plentiful yeast that still had quite a bit of work to do(this is a pretty fresh bottle). Farmhouse nuances are spread thinly across the aromatic spectrum presented here, only a glimpse of one or two bit of funky castings at a time. The nose is, for the most part, calm and mild, the limiting factor in scoring this aromatic composition that is otherwise lovely. The flavor is a thirst-quenching exercise in equality of multiple facets of an exciting, and now quite vibrant, taste structure. Raspberries are shrouded in sweetness but seem to break through and force an aggressive acidity that is balancing. Yeastiness is poignant and focused - an assault on the back of the throat is imminent. Additions of vinegar spring out, cherry juice notes are light but definitely intrude into the wake of the soft raspberries and their destination. Sweetness and acidity are both medium, tartness medium-low and fleeting. The finish is mostly lightly tart raspberry, lighter yeast, fruit skins and mild vinegar. Where are the farmhouse notes? Well, they are few and far between and show up very late. The mouthfeel is pointedly carbonated, moderately smooth and light-medium bodied, mildly sticky. Decent, pretty drinkable.

Pours a slightly hazy, light red color with a small, light pinkish head. The raspberries are abound in the smell, I got some strawberry, and candy syrup in there too. Sharp aroma. The taste is mildly sour and acidic mixed in with the heavy raspberry flavors, and swetness. I liked the tartness in the finish, left my tongue tingling and wanting another sip. I liked the sweetness in this beer as opposed to others Ive had.

Bottle. Pours a plum colored brownish red. Head dissapears imediately, I don’t know if there is an issue with my glass or the bottle because I had the Boon Kriek last night and the head was much more impressive. Flavor is raspberry, obviously, its ok, not as good at their Kriek based on this bottle.

Slight hazy red-brown hue, with a pinky-white head, intense sweet tart raspberry nose, with a note of fruity wet oakiness, with a yeasty musty accent, and a fruity sweet and sour aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet, tart, acidic fruity raspberry character, with a mild wild yeast, mustiness accent, with a wildberry oakiness note, hint of barnyard, leading towards a tart, acidic, raspberry fruity finish.

Amber of color with thin white head. A sour aroma of raspberries. A light sour flavor with fresh raspberries. Not a sour lambic but still nice and fresh.

Tasted 2007-07-21. 2005 version, 37,5 cl. Red/brown colour with off-white head. Clear and fairly light in colour. Aroma of raspberries, sweet raisins and rosé wine. Flavour is the same plus a light sourness.
