1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Sharp and acidic, this has none of the douceur of framboise. Heady aroma and unpleasant brown sediment, it has an overall rusty appearance.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
375 ml bottle picked up from Binnys (Bolingbrook, IL). Opened during Iowa/Minnesota Game Day Action Side-By-Side with Kriek. Pours a deeper reddish hue overall, a mellow haziness gives way to some crimson and berry hues, good darker reddish glow, fruit punch glow. A smaller pinkish head atop stays as a small filmy ring, laces small overall. The glow, a bit more pronounced than the darker cherry. Aromas show some decent sharp lactic elements, raspberry skin and juice, a bit seedy with a decent sweetness still hanging on. Some straw, earth, and oak. Mellow brett and funkiness as it settles down, nothing too crazy but a nice blend of sweet and sour seem present. Initial is a richer berry presence, raspberries mingle between sour and sweet, a bit sour up front and sharp moving quickly to a more jammy and seedy middle. Richer fruit that works better than the Kriek for me, genuine seedy berry and tannic skin meets oak, earth, and a smoothed out lactic yogurty feel. Straw, grass, earthy bretty element kick in a bit as we start to round the corner. Subtle oak, vanilla and wet wood press on a bit more. Good sourness, some gentle effervescence and lighter body still make this quite drinkable even straddling the sweeter side of things (Though, not as sweet as the Kriek was for me). Finish is still sour, a good funkiness lays down and lingers on, sticks on the palate for me. Horseblanket, a bit of manure and straw. This is pretty solid right here.

Flaske fra vinmonopolet. Drukket på hytta til dag. Mørk rød farge. Hvit skumtopp. Lav karbonert. Lukter tam julebrus. Smaker bringebær og estoffer. God men ikke helt min type øl

375cl bottle. Red with redish head. Nose : raspberry, cherry, tart, apple. Sip : low density with oily texture. Low carbonation. Sweet with fruity tart flavors. It develops more dry notes uncovering lambic background. It ends earthy and moderate sourness. Well balanced and quite complex layers. Nice.
