COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Framboise Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh raspberries (25%) and wildcherries (5%)are used for this Lambic beer. Framboise Boon is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses. NO artificial sweeteners, flavourings, preservatives or colouring agents. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name.

Bottle. Vintage 2004. Redish-orange color with a thin white head. Aroma is very strong and loaded with raspberry, raspberry seeds, vanilla, wood and some funky sourness. Amazing flavor, tons of raspberries. Balanced with a slightly sour, funkiness and caramel malt backbone. Sweet and sour at the same time. Lighter body with an almost creamy texture and a dry finish.

Bottled - vintage 2000 sampled May 2008. A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet and acidic with notes of raspberries - as though they are not quite ripe, which lends it an acidity. The flavor is sligtly acidic and tart and dominated by raspberries.
Earlier Rating: 9/23/2003 Total Score: 3.9
[Mine had the same name - different label and was only 5.0% ABV - is it the same beer?] A beutiful clear dark red beer with a beutiful pink head though fast disappearing. The aroma is very sweet with notes of cherries? in a framboise? and some sharp notes. The flavor starts rather sweet with good cherry notes (still weird in a framboise), but then the mold, vinegar, sharpness, and metal from the wild fermentation hits - running along the sides of the tongue. The balance between the sharpness and sweetness is unique. All in all a great beer.

200 grams of cherries for every liter leaves it’s mark: nice pink colour with a white head, almost clear. Extremely fruity, berry-like nose. Perfectly balanced between the sweet and sour. Sometimes framboises can be an overly cloying affair, but never here. 040799

Bottle 37,5 cl Courtesy of Grovlam. Hazy reddish with an off-white head. Very fruity raspberry aroma. Medium body, sweet’n’sour notes with a very distinct raspberry flavour propelled by a fresh, light sourness. 7/2/7/3/13=3.2 290607

Clear dark red beer. Little white head. Light raspberry nose. Semi soft palate, a little dry. Slightly tart raspberry that gets a little sweeter. That’s about that then. Decent fruit beer but one dimensional.

Explosive bottle (by chance the cork doesn’t damage anything); it pours a clear red-amber color, while the generous head is compact and persistent, and has just a shade of pink. The fruity aroma is strong and evident, it reminds mostly of raspberry ice-cream. The carbonation is very high, as expected; therefore the mouthfeel is somehow smooth; the raspberry juice is more evident than the base lambic, although there is a nice degree of sourness it seems to come from the fruits mostly. Balanced and very enjoyable; not unique but elegant.

2006-07-11, Vintage 2000, 6 years old, 75cl corked bottle, as Boon Framboise Marriage Parfait, 6.2% ABV, 7-4-8-4-15=38
Hazy amber-ruby color. Clear aroma of raspberries and flowers. The taste is fruity, medium sourness, some astringency, some sugars, some tannins. The final is balanced. An elegant brew.

2004-02-29, Vintage 1997, 7 years old, 75cl corked bottle, as Boon Framboise, 6.2% ABV, 9-4-8-4-16=41
Copper color; persistent perlage. Wonderful aroma of wood, cask, cork, white pepper, light vinegar. Good mix of sugars with the sourness, tart; smooth (the age!), with a delicate fruitness, raspberries. Perfect balance!
