1999 vintage: Grapey flavor is thick and more 'juicebox' than winey. Acidity is missing, except for little hints. Oakiness is good, but this is a poor sample of a Belgian Frambois.

1986 Vintage sampled in '04: Long sweet taste, but rather flat and lifeless. Smooth beyond words, but once I tried the '95, I realized that it might be past it's prime. 1995 Vintage sampled in '03 & '04: This was a huge hit at the tasting, and a huge hit with me. Super-complexity gave off many extra flavors (even in such a small sample). Slight sour taste was just enough to mask the +6% alcohol, and the sweetness was not at all overpowering as it seems to be in many of the other framboises. Raspberries and dark cherries in there as well as sugary candy apples and brown sugar.

Sweet, fruity, raspberry aroma. Clear, red coloured with a short pink head. Fruity (raspberry) taste, quite sweet and more sour/bitter in the finish. Dry beer. not really interesting.

A: The pour is a strange looking purple-red color with a minimal and short lived pink head. S: A completely overwhelming aroma of artificial raspberry is the first thing I notice. There is a mild funky, cheesiness underneath and perhaps a slight acidity. T: Things don’t improve at all when it comes to the flavor. The same sweet, fake raspberry taste and it’s slightly sugary. In retrospect, the flavor of this is reminiscent of raspberry jam (and not even a good one). M: The body is light with a tingly carbonation. D: I really don’t understand the point of these sweetened lambics. If you’re going to go through the trouble of making lambic, do it right.

Sweet raspberry aroma. Brown/red color, light pink head, fair lace. Very sweet, light sour, pretty bitter, rasberry flavor, light dry. Macro taste by small brewery!
Earlier Rating: 6/21/2004 Total Score: 3.8
I love gueuze but normally just the gueuze lambic or kriek lambic. Other fruits don’t do it for me. But! This one is an exeption. Nice aroma consisting of raspberry, oak and tart. Pink/redish colour, nice head. Not too sweet, raspberry flavor, smooth, some sourness. Finishes off quickly leaving some sourness behind.

Marmeladengeruch. Süßer, leider zu süßer Antrunk mit deutlichen Himbeeraromen, die aber schnell dumpf werden. Künstlich süß, dadurch nur wenig erfrischend. Geht so.. 8/7/6/7/9/7

Bottle, 37,5 cl. Reddish orange colour with a small head. Aroma is over ripe raspberries with a burned shade. Fruity sweet flavour with a rather short finish. Not a favourite.

Hazy deep pink purple and virtually no head. Sour and wood-wine-yeasty and sweet raspberry aroma. Swirling the glass produces a burst of floral nectar, almost sticky, sweet fading to what is probably oak but fires up my brain receptors associated with the smell of an school room just after the inkwells have been filled. Palate changes very quickly from sweet to sour to bitter to that smell of ink again and back to a soft sour. Finish is a bland sweetish and unsatisfying.
