COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Framboise Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh raspberries (25%) and wildcherries (5%)are used for this Lambic beer. Framboise Boon is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses. NO artificial sweeteners, flavourings, preservatives or colouring agents. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name.

Ruby red body with a very small ring of pinkish bubbles around the edge of the glass. A sour raspberry aroma mixed with just a hint of maybe honey sweetness. Sour, raspberry, hints of bitterness, barnyard grassy, and all kinds of other flavors my vocabulary can’t describe. Delicious.

Purchased at LCBO, vintage 2012 bottle. Rasperries with a sour taste, a taste I rather enjoyed. Refreshing, not to familiar with Lambrics, but having this every once in a while, not bad at all, enjoyed it.

Bottle. Ruby in colour, small white head. In aroma raspberries with sour, vineous notes. Flavour is sweet and sour raspberries with dry finish. It’s not as tart as other framboise, but that’s ok. Nice fruit lambic beer.

Bottle, poured into tumbler. Straight up ruby-purple, wisp of pinkish head that recedes to nil. Nose is raspberries, iron, wool, a little bit of wood, soft mineral character. Raspberry notes are just a little sharp at first, but soon soften. Finish is quick. Solid, distinguishes itself.

37,5cl bottle, 2012 vintage. Opens with that dull lambic pop, pours a rather murky mauvish ruby. Aromas of raspberry pits and vinous zestiness give way to a much duller taste profile, earthy, and near stale. I do appreciate the old hop presence and the nice astringency, but else the lustre is very contained in this non-expressive tired framboise juice offering.

From bottle 375ml to glass. Red fruit squash color. Small RedWhite head. Taste somehow Carbonated, Rasberries, citrus, herbs. Smells fruity, more like a soda.
