COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Framboise Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh raspberries (25%) and wildcherries (5%)are used for this Lambic beer. Framboise Boon is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses. NO artificial sweeteners, flavourings, preservatives or colouring agents. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name.

Pours a cloudy pinkish brown with red hues and a white head. Smells strongly of raspberries, slightly sour. The flavour is also very sour, but not necessarily in a bad way. It is a very carbonated beer and raspberries dominate, as expected, but there is a touch of malt and an odd metallic taste near the finish - this could be the alcohol flavour mixing with the fruit. Although I am a fan of sour flavours when it comes to lambics, this could benefit from a touch of sweetness, perhaps just to mellow the intensity of flavour. On saying that hwever, the palate is left with a lingering berry sweetness that begs for another sip.

Reddish color with a light pink head with short duration. Aroma has fruity notes, mainly berries and cherries. Flavor is slightly sweet with lot of fruit notes, same as aroma: barries and cherries. Slightly acidic mouthfeel in the final.

bottle @ Grassroots Natural Market / Jacksonville FL --- 2008 bottle - Cloudy medium amber color, full white head cover, streaks and blobs of lace. Taste is very tart berry with a little sour on the finish. I suspect this is well beyond it’s ’enjoy by" date. Maybe a newer bottle will show up.

Aromat - dziki, winny. Wygląd - cienka piana, szybko się zanika. Kolor - głęboki rubin, zero zmętnienia. Smak - zdecydowana przewaga lambika nad maliną. Smak malinowy bardzo subtelny. Odczucie w ustach "dzikie", winne mało malinowe w porównaniu do Lindemansa. Nieźle huknęło przy otwieraniu ale nie jest powalająco wysycone.

375ml bottle at home from drinkstore. 2012 vintage. Pours cherry Red with reddish ringed head. Aroma is cherry, strawberry, tannin. Raspberry, white wine, cherry dry finish. Carbonation is lively and gives the cherry a real lift on the finish. Nice balanced and fruit heads off the sourness.

tmrmwel (1138) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 1, 2015
Bottle, vintage 2013. Pours red, with a big pink creamy head, receding to finger thickness. Aroma is tart berries, with raspberries, cherries and blackcurrants, as well as some tannins and earthy notes of brett. Full body, with average carbonation. Flavour is tart raspberries, blackcurrants and wooden notes, as well as some light funky bretty notes. A bit too light on the acidity, but nice fruity tartness and very good drinkability.
