COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Framboise Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh raspberries (25%) and wildcherries (5%)are used for this Lambic beer. Framboise Boon is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses. NO artificial sweeteners, flavourings, preservatives or colouring agents. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name.

Pours a cloudy pinkish brown with red hues and a white head. Smells strongly of raspberries, slightly sour. The flavour is also very sour, but not necessarily in a bad way. It is a very carbonated beer and raspberries dominate, as expected, but there is a touch of malt and an odd metallic taste near the finish - this could be the alcohol flavour mixing with the fruit. Although I am a fan of sour flavours when it comes to lambics, this could benefit from a touch of sweetness, perhaps just to mellow the intensity of flavour. On saying that hwever, the palate is left with a lingering berry sweetness that begs for another sip.

Bottle. Dark clear ruby with no head. Beer is pretty much straight Raspberry with a little lacto. Slightly off vegetal/ash note in the aftertaste. Slightly jammy but not in an artificial way. Thin sticky mouthfeel. Solid.

Pours a clear dark pink beer with a small, quickly disappearing pinkish head on top. Aroma of raspberries, Brett, oak and some funky notes, really nice and subtle. Flavor is medium sour with loads of fruits in there alongside some nice Bretty influences. Tart and sweet switch places all the time, making this really refreshing and a great quencher for when in the sun. Good stuff.

Bottle 37.5cl. Aroma of rasperries & typical lambic sourness. A bit sweet/sour taste, with alot of raspberries. Body is larger than most lambics, but it doesn’t matter much. A good framboise, but not close to the best ones.

Bottle share at CBC Clerkenwell. Thanks! 2008 vintage. Very dark purple, small pink head. Aroma is strong with blackberries, strawberries, jammy. Beautiful. Body is medium, smooth, tingly carbonation. Taste has more jammy fruit, cherry, strawberry. Sweet, but not overly so, or at least getting away with it. Good.

Reddish color with a light pink head with short duration. Aroma has fruity notes, mainly berries and cherries. Flavor is slightly sweet with lot of fruit notes, same as aroma: barries and cherries. Slightly acidic mouthfeel in the final.

bottle @ Grassroots Natural Market / Jacksonville FL --- 2008 bottle - Cloudy medium amber color, full white head cover, streaks and blobs of lace. Taste is very tart berry with a little sour on the finish. I suspect this is well beyond it’s ’enjoy by" date. Maybe a newer bottle will show up.
