Odeur franche de cerise, couleur conséquente, goût sûr avec sucre léger. Peu de co2, rafraichissant, un peu astringent.

Had this in a bottle in a nice bar in Gainesville FL. I wasn’t expecting much on the sour side of the street, being a University town and all ... clearly I was wrong. Heck, they had the Lindemann’s kriek on tap. To this beer ... nice color, beautiful aroma of barnyard funk and fruit as soon as the bottle was opened ... before I even poured out the beer. Great balance on the acidity, beautiful austere cherry taste ... just a fabulous kriek. Whenever I see this in a store I’m buying a case.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
375ml bottle from IPB.
Appearance : Deep red with pink medium foamy head. Awesome look.
Aroma : Deep rich cherries with nice funk. Citrusy tartness with some acidity. slightly earthy. Lovely tartness. Light cough syrup. Cherries are slightly sweet but nothing close to artificially sweetened krieks.
Taste : Sharp and acidic cherries. Light funk. Finish is tart and sharp with light cough syrup. Light funk and raspberry leaves on the late finish. Light astringency on the arrival.
Palate : Lively carbonation. Thin palate. Rather dry but a tad sweeter than most good examples of the style.
Overall : Fairly nice kriek. Big and bold cherries aroma. The cherries are less expressive on taste than nose. Taste has some kind of cherry pit astringency.
