COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kriek Mariage Parfait is an Old Style Kriek of exceptional excellence. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a strong Lambic of spontaneous fermentation and aged on 6,200 litre oak foudres (large wooden casks) for 5 to 6 months. Kriek Mariage Parfait is naturally clarified and referments in the bottle. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavours, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle and enjoy this epitome of traditional Lambic brewing.

Smells like sour rotten fruit, pours a reddish purple color without much of a head. Taste of sour rotten fruit with a light body and a tart rotten grape finish.

Dark bit cloudy red with brown hues and a light pink frothy head. On the nose aromas of cherry, earthy, woody, red grapes, black currant, almonds/marzipan hints of brett develops. Light fruity sweet with a well balanced acidity/sourness and a hint of bitterness with subtle notes of amaretto and balsamic. Medium fruity body; thin, lively.

375ml corked bottle, 2011 vintage, thanks Russ! Tart cherry aroma with notes of funk, wood and Brett. Pours deep red colored with a very thing white head that burned off quickly due to high carbonation. Starts with fruity cherry flavors that are sweet as well as a light oakiness and live mouthfeel. Finishes smooth with light cherry tartness from the Brett presumably. Excellent Kriek as it is well balanced between sweet and sour without either gaining dominance.
