Kriek Mariage Parfait is an Old Style Kriek of exceptional excellence. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a strong Lambic of spontaneous fermentation and aged on 6,200 litre oak foudres (large wooden casks) for 5 to 6 months. Kriek Mariage Parfait is naturally clarified and referments in the bottle. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavours, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle and enjoy this epitome of traditional Lambic brewing.

Bottle, vintage 2011. Deep red with pink head, a bit hazy. Aroma is a bit sweet, with mature cherries tiny hints of solvent. Taste is sout with clear sweet notes. Mature cherries with the sour and astringent wild cherry notes. Very nice beer

Bottle. Deep purple pour, pink head. Aroma full of cherries, very fresh and fruity, some vague funkyness. Flavor is quite sour but mostly very fruity with amazingly natural cherries. Nice brew.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli - Vintage 2009, picked up at Dranken Geers. Pours lightly murky, bright blood red with a fine, pink cream head. Rich bitter and tangy cherry nose, strong suggestions of bitter cherry skins, nice funk. Light to medium sweet flavor, biting sourness, lightly juicy cherries, mellow bitter pits, restrained funk, light grassy bitterness, hints of fruit leather. Light bodied with average to high carbonation, massaging mouthfeel. Crisp, clean finish with moderate bitter grass and cherry core and skin, lightly juicy and yet also dried out cherries, some acidic burn, lingering sour bite. Great kriek all around. Firm without being overly aggressive. A great one.

2009 into a founders snifter. Straight deep dark blood read with a nice pink head. The head stays with the beer three each sip. Aromas of funk, sour, cherry, almost a hint of paint thinner(Edit: I am later on getting full aroma of a rose like essence, a flower in full bloom). Flavors of nice sour and sour cherry with a nice even pucker to funk. A little thinner than the last bottle I had but still awesome. Overall I get this all the time cause it sits on the shelves.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2015 Bottle in Belgium: Deep ruby red with a nice pink head. Smooth and surprisingly full on the tongue; prickly carbonation. Rich cherry flavors from start to finish, as well as other fruity notes. Balanced. Perfect amount of sourness. Pleasant amounts of tartness. Wholesome notes of oak, cherry pits and nuts give it even more depth. Lesser notes of vanilla, pepper and clove. Delicious stuff.

Bottle at home (March 15, 2013) Dark cherry red colour and a small pretty looking pink head. Aroma has some sweet cherries, funky lambiek and musty cask. It tastes less sour than other krieken, but there is still some lactic sourness in it. Vanilla, almond and sweet cherries. A bit musty and creamy. At the end sour barnyard flavours coming through. Too creamy and musty for me.

Deep cheery pink with white cherry head. Aroma is very mild funk and perfume. Taste is sweet tang. Not much funk or tart. Tasty, but lacks the complexity of other fruit lambics. Drinks more like a cherry beer than a kriek lambic. Dry clingy finish. Overall, enjoyed drinking this one, but not much of a great lambic.

Pours reddish pink with pink low head Aromas of cherries, raspberries, highly sour tones. Bit off Evenly balanced but not in my part of the world. Its a nice mixture from cherries and sourness. Nice overall but bit too sour ending

Pours burgundy with deep pink head. Aroma of cherries, raspberry, grapes, bretta. Taste is cherry sour with just a slight sweetness to balance it towards the finish. Body is light and refreshing with lively carbonation but not overly so. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
