Kriek Mariage Parfait is an Old Style Kriek of exceptional excellence. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a strong Lambic of spontaneous fermentation and aged on 6,200 litre oak foudres (large wooden casks) for 5 to 6 months. Kriek Mariage Parfait is naturally clarified and referments in the bottle. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavours, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle and enjoy this epitome of traditional Lambic brewing.

2008 bottle opened for St. Arnoldus Day. Pomegranate colored elixir in the flute. Champagne style head that foams and dissolves quickly. Aroma and flavor are funk, sour cherry, and dried fruit. A little wet hair, too. Finishes dry.

Aroma has a strong funk. Pink colored head with a deep ruby colored body. Great carbonation with the body. Taste has a dry tart flavor that is very drinkable. This is a great beer to introduce someone to sours. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2007 bottle at Kulminator Cafe. Pours red with a cute pink head and a delicate cherry aroma. There isan equally delicate cherry flavor that sticks to the palate. Very delicious.

Pours hazy red. Aroma is cherries and funk. Has a slightly tartness but definitely isn’t too much. Awesome kriek. Great starter beer to the style

Bottle to snifter (2008 vintage). Looks good; a deep red with thin lacing. Smells pretty good too; funky AND fruity. Tastes decent; cherry. Good on the palate. Solid, but I wish a little more funk came through in the taste.

Bottle. In a tall glass, yields great tan head. Body murky and brownish red but healthy. Aroma is malty, especially for a lambic, followed but plump pie filling. Sweet-fruit-barrel. The palate introduces acidity. Cherry tartness, jam with no sweetener. Not as complex as it can be, but special nonetheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Årgång 2008. Spontanjäst öl i världsklass, vinös och syrlig med en frisk och angenäm smak av körsbär. Lagom sötma.

Stumbled upon de Bier Tempel our first night in Brugge & found this bottle, crushed it later in our room at t’Keizershof.
2009 bottle 375ml

Pours a deep red, pretty much to the point of being purple with a small pink head.

The aroma is lots of pie cherry, some mild funk, some sour cherries. Mostly the kriek’s aroma is focused around lots of rich tart cherry character.

The flavor is sour & not as cherry forward as the aroma, but still there is plenty of tart cherry flavor in there. The kriek is earthy and dry all the way through. Lots of nice woody and corky character.

A complex beast of a kriek, absolutely delicious.

12.7 oz bottle, Harvest 2008. Nice distinct pink head, noisily fizzes to minimal after about 10-15 seconds. Hazy dark red color. Nice soft carbonation. Just like the standard Mariage Parfait, it’s a very interesting delicate champagne-like texture. Nice fermenty cherry aroma, and wood. Very tart taste, kind of sweet. It’s going to take a lot more exposure to the style before lambics grow on me, it’s not really my thing. But this is undeniably solid for what it is, and I do prefer it to the standard mariage parfait. Gets better as it sits, too. I really like the tart taste, it is growing on me already. A decent one to sip slowly.

Harvest 2008, Best Before: 04-11-2030. 375 ml C+C bottle into a tulip glass. A - Dark red fruit juice body with a purple tint. A fluffy bright pink head forms but dissolves pretty quickly to some thin edging. S - Intensely sour cherries, oaky tannins, and some spices. A bit of warming alcohol on the end. T - Mouth puckering cherry juice with some light oak, vanilla and funky notes. Not very complex, but it has a great sour cherry presence even at 4 years old. Ends abruptly with the 8% abv well hidden. Mouth feel is lively yet thin. O - A very solid kriek. Very sour and mouth puckering with some light oak and brett notes. A very good starter kriek that I actually prefer to the Drie Fonteinen Oude Kriek. Still stumped at why the mariage parfait series has such a high abv though.
