Kriek Mariage Parfait is an Old Style Kriek of exceptional excellence. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a strong Lambic of spontaneous fermentation and aged on 6,200 litre oak foudres (large wooden casks) for 5 to 6 months. Kriek Mariage Parfait is naturally clarified and referments in the bottle. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavours, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle and enjoy this epitome of traditional Lambic brewing.

Roze bier met schuim. Smaak is typisch voor Lambik, droog en zuur en niet zoet. Krieksmaak is duidelijk aanwezig.

Bottled from Burg Bieren, 2011 harvest, BB 13 07 2032, large sample, served in a chouffe glass. Initially clear ruby color, big frothy pink head, diminishing to a firm medium lasting head. Aroma of cherry, marzipan, some horseblanket and barnyard, some oak wood. Quite sour in taste, slight fruity sweetness. Mostly citric acid and some lactic acid. Some nutty cherry pits in flavor as well. Quite full bodied, high on carbonation but not in a too disturbing way. Slight alcohol noticeable and slight dry in the finish. Quite heavy on the stomach, but still a lovely brew, although I prefer still (fruit)lambic instead of carbonated stuff.

10/IV/14 - 37.5cl bottle from??? @ home - BB: n/a, 2008 vintage (2014-358)

Little cloudy deep dark ruby red beer, big pink aery head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of cork, some marzipan, soft fruitiness, bit funky. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sour start, fruity cherries, mouldy cork, very bitter, lemon rind, citric acidity. Aftertaste: pretty sour, lemony, bitter hops, moulded cork, some bitter almonds, vinegar. Talk about a disappointment. :( I guess it had a bad cork? Should re-rate, I guess.

2012. Deep dark red with dark pink head. Great funky maltiness, quite spicy, sour red fruits, some vanilla woodyness and light yoghurt. Medium sour going into more intense sour finish, not much sweetness. Very nice medium bodied with prickly carbonation. Not the best kriek but very enjoyable.

Bottle from Quarrie. Perfect looking beer! Nose is full of sweet tart - bright cherries and sweet raspberry, almost beetroot juice in there with a pleasing tang to it. A hint of sugar coming through in the taste but overall it is very clean and has a creamy cherry icing feel to the finish with plenty of tarty berries and sweet raspberry juice. Good balance between tart and sweetness which some krieks really struggle to pull of. Nice beer
