Kriek Mariage Parfait is an Old Style Kriek of exceptional excellence. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a strong Lambic of spontaneous fermentation and aged on 6,200 litre oak foudres (large wooden casks) for 5 to 6 months. Kriek Mariage Parfait is naturally clarified and referments in the bottle. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavours, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle and enjoy this epitome of traditional Lambic brewing.

Deze kriek kenmerkt zich door een mooi palet van eikenhout, zure krieken en azijn. De kersen zorgen voor een mooie laag, die weinig zoets in zich heeft. Roze schuimlaag.

375ml 2014 bottle from private import. Thanks Marc for letting me buy it. Aroma: dusty wild cherries, vinous, woody, a tad vinegar. App: hazy dark pink, medium pink head and great lacing. Taste and palate: light to medium body, subtle to light sweetness, fruity, moderate to lively carbonation, medium dry acidity finish. Overall: great surprise. For some reason I never thought I would enjoy it. I guess I just love Boon. Every thing they make is just magic.

Bottle @Berggrens källare. 2011 vintage. Reddish pink color. Aroma has an almost perfect balance of cherries and barnyard coupled with some wood, vanilla, horse blanket and dough. Taste had some initial sweet caramel but finished dry and tart with notes of cherries, white vine grapes, strawberries, acidic acid, barnyard and villa. Finish has lemon, some dough, wood and spices lingering. Great complexity.

Really beautiful ruby red colour. Thin white head. Deep cherry aroma. No acidity. Noticable that Schaerbeekse cherries are used. Deep cherry taste. Maybe a bit overcarbonated. But nice mouthfeel. Quite long aftertaste of cherries. Hints of cherrystones remain unnoticable.
