Kriek Mariage Parfait is an Old Style Kriek of exceptional excellence. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a strong Lambic of spontaneous fermentation and aged on 6,200 litre oak foudres (large wooden casks) for 5 to 6 months. Kriek Mariage Parfait is naturally clarified and referments in the bottle. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavours, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle and enjoy this epitome of traditional Lambic brewing.

Draft to tulip Consummation: I love gueuzes and hope to be able to spell them too. This, of course is fucking awesome. Farmhouse, lemony sour, yeasty plum. Adjunct: Horse blanket, orange peel; cloudy light amber, thin ringed head

2013 vintage bottle. Dark red colour with a tiny pink head. Aroma is full of cherries with skin, light funk, marzipan and oak. Light to medium sour with flavour of cherry, oak, almond, marzipan, hints of alcohol. Dry finish full of cherries. Really a smooth Kriek thatís not as sour as likes of Cantillon. Hides the ABV in a really smooth manner.

375 ml bottle 2008 edition sampled in 2016. Almost clear, deep red body with a small, bubbled pink head. Aroma is a bit weak, but feels pure and nice, dominated by cherry, some almond and the background, acidic berries and moderate farmhouse. Flavor is sour sherry, hint of almond, discrete vinegar, light farmhouse and a feeling of sweet berries by the far end of the aftertaste, thatís mainly rather tart and dry. Fine balanced body and a fine balanced flavor all over. As always I tend to prefer my Kriek a bit stored to reduce some of the cherry flavor, I sure enjoy the cherry flavor distinct, but donít want it to overtake too much of the lambic. This one works very well for me without beeing a sensation. .

From bottle at Vill & Syrlig 2015. Dark ruby body with a small pink head. Aroma is a cherry bomb with leather and barnyard, taste is sour, cherries, oak and funk with a lively zesty palate. Lactic finish with a heavy cherry dose. Quite a nice one!

2011 edition. Impressive dark red color with huge strawberry pink head that will stay for so long. Sour cherries, slight hints of alcohol and notes of oak barrel in the nose. Taste is sour, full of cherries, hints of aromatic vinegar and dark red wine. Intense carbonation, alcohol is totally hidden in the taste, but one can easily feel the woody notes that give this drink a lot of character. Very good beer, just as expected. Dry finish, makes you crave for more...too bad itís the only bottle I have :)
