Kriek Mariage Parfait is an Old Style Kriek of exceptional excellence. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a strong Lambic of spontaneous fermentation and aged on 6,200 litre oak foudres (large wooden casks) for 5 to 6 months. Kriek Mariage Parfait is naturally clarified and referments in the bottle. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavours, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle and enjoy this epitome of traditional Lambic brewing.

Bottle 37,5 cl BBE 2031. Poured dark ruby in colour with a pink fast disappearing head. Cherries and light sour apples in aroma. Cherries mostly in flavour with some sour barnyard notes as well. The sweetness of cherries is quite dominent in aftertaste but feels still nice.

2011 Vintage Sampled in 2015 Deep dark ruby coloured body with a very fast-dying pink and rosey head. Aroma of yeast, bread, light cherries, grass, malt, wheat and tons of oak notes - more of the wood scents than any fruit. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a very pleasant yeast character, some subdued wheat and malt notes, but the very noticeable and puckering cherry flavour followed by a complex and definitive oak and cedar flavour at the end. Aftertaste is very pleasant with a light grassy and herbal flavour, but the sour cherry notes come through with an emphasis on the structured yeast characteristics. Overall, a great kriek with layers of flavour that still show a bit to be desired, but a nice beer and finally good to sample and rate this one! I sampled this 37,5 cL split bottle purchased from De HopDuvel in Gent, Belgium on 16-August-2013 for €4,20 sampled at home in Washington on 21-May-2015. 375ml bottle from trade with Jefverstraete. Many thanks Jef! Pours a deep red with lovely big foamy pink head. Light cherry sherbet nose. Soft sweet sour front with nice, luscious cherry creeping up on the finish. Incredible blend. Exceptionally drinkable with delicate cherry flavours that blossom on the palette long after the initial sip.

vintage 2013. Small pinky head on the top. Very deep red colour. On the aroma rich cherry, wood, vinous, light vanilla and apple funky notes. The palate in very big, medium carbonation, medium to full bodied, with a punch of cherries, wood, and alternance between acetic first and sweet and wood later. No alcohol what so ever. Big beer, very complex and robust.
