2008 bottle. Pours brownish red with a creamy pink head. Smells of sweet cherry syrup with a bare hint of earthy funk. Tastes as sweet as it smells with a little medicinal tartness and vanilla. Some woodiness in a finish that struggles to be dry. The lambic gets a bit lost behind the children’s medicine cherry sweetness.

Aroma is straight Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia - vanilla and cherries. Flavor is sweet and round with lighter acidity. Pretty good.

37,5cl bottle, K-market Vantaa. Poured dark red color with a pinkish head. Aroma is sweet cherry. Flavor is more cherries, some sourness pushing through. Quite high carbonated.

Dark red rose with thin pink head, slight turbidity. Nose is dominant cherry, with some oak. There is both a moderate sweetness and sourness, nicely balanced, and no bitterness. The body is light with a lively carbonation. First proper kriek I’ve tried, so no real basis for comparison. Enjoyed the dominant cherry character, but the lambic character could be a bit stronger for me. My next one will be aged another year. 375mL corked and caged bottle. Crop 2008, BB 12/05/2013

Draft. Pours dark red with a pinkish head. Sweet fruity aroma with some lighter funky hints. The flavor has sweet cherry fruitiness and a little bit of a woody character. Pretty good, very drinkable.

A clear garnet pour with a one finger pink head that dissipates slowly. The aroma is pure cherry puree and juicy sourness. Some tart black cherry bubblegum comes through as well, but the funk character is dominated by cherry notes. The flavor is tart cherry juice with slight oak and earthen funk. The palate is highly effervescent with a sticky body that finishes quite dry. Not the best kriek out there, but its pretty damn tasty.

On tap at Bieaard in Amsterdam. Pours a carbonated reddish color. Fairly sweet with cherry wheat flavors. Pretty carbonated in the mouth, kind of like champagne. Bit of a cherry syrup sort of taste. Not my thing at all.
