Bottle pour at Lambic Summit. Dark cherry pour with some pink head. Smells like cherry cough drops and it is cloyingly sweet with medicinal tones, where’s the tart, kriek means sour cherries.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 GT2 (3428) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 10, 2010
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2011 Sampled at a secret meeting in the forest. First, this pours like Welch’s communion grape juice- clear deep purple with dark purple bubbles. Aroma is massive Sucrets, cough syrup. Taste is loaded with oatmeal, butter, diacetyl. Not a real kriek. It was so bad that I was dared to drink everyone’s sample all at once in a big shot glass. 6/10/2010 5/3/5/2/10=2.5.
750mL 1995 vintage thanks to ygtbsm94. Black label with red stencil font. The pour is a cloudy pink to peach. Nose is very weird: sour funk with sugar and old candies. Finally the nose opens up into cherry pie as it decants. Tate is also very odd: sharp acid and vinegar atop sweet cherry pie. Not a big fan of this one. Tries to be two things at once. 6/3/2011 7/3/6/3/12=3.1
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 TET (685) - FINLAND - JUN 8, 2010
Dark red beer with weak and white head. Aroma is strongly cherries, sweet and some sourness. Lot of cherries, some sweetness and berryjuice in the flavour, some sourness in the end. Quite easy to drink with high carbonation. Good, cherry beer without too sweetness.

On tap. Poured a pretty ruby with a pink head that quickly fades. Sweet candy cherry aroma. Flavor is similar. Not too overly sweet. Pretty enjoyable.

from tap in Halle, reddish colour with white/pink stable head. Smell: sweet and sour, candy and cherry. Taste: sweet, with some sourness, cherry, some mild bitterness. Easy drinking beer but in my opinion rather sweet.

Draught in De Bekeerde Suster, Amsterdam on 19th March 2010. Red with a decaying white head. Sour cherry main flavour notes with a touch of lime on the tongue and a zingy mouthfeel. Swet-sour, citric aftertaste.

Bottle at home. Clear dark purple color with a thin pink head. Aroma of cherries, yet quite lemonade like artificial cherries. Flavor is sweet, fruity and quite watery. Slightly artificially sweet with more lemonade syrup. Slightly bitter in the finish.

2006 bottle at Kulminator. Deep red and murky with no foam. Very nice, clean cherry flavor here. Not very sour, and a light sweetness. Indeed a nice kriek that has improved with aging.
