Red like grenadines with small head that don’t last for long. The nose is reaping of ripe red cherries, it’s very inviting. Taste is moslty cherries, with sourness rather than sweetness as the backdrop. Even further back there is a hint of the hallmark lambic-taste which I can’t quite put my finger on. I guess "stable-ish" will do fit for now. Flush the brew in your mouth and there is tartness, like the peel of a grape or the touchl of a cat’s tounge. I like it, it’s very refreshing.

Botte (0.375l): Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, extremely firm pinkish head, like beaten egg-white; moderate to strong sweetish fruity nose - distinctive cherry aromas - with a little acidity in the background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied; sweetish-sourish finish with a little tartness in the aftertaste. Not too traditional, but very pleasant and refreshing........

This had so much potential from the pour...A cherry orchard in my pint glass with a beautiful dark ruby color. Unfortunately the flavor is lacking. It reminded me of a mediocre cherry soda and cough syrup with a fizzy mouthfeel that was too sweet. You cannot taste the alcohol but disappointing none the less. I know there’s a brilliant lambic out there; why are all the greats retired?!

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Deep red colour, like red wine, with foamy pink head. Fruity nose with a distint cherry aroma and a hint of almond. Fruity taste with loads of fresh cherries. Sweeter than the oude kriek, but drier than most other sweet krieks. Fairly thin body and short finish. Nice cherry characater and very refreshing on a hot summer evening.

Bottled in Brussels - less complex and thinner than other lambics I sampled. With a bit more depth and flavor, it would have been better enjoyed.

Draught at the De Beiaard, Amsterdam. Red color with pink head. Sweet cherry aroma with nice funky earthy-leather lambic notes. The same elements are present in the taste along with rounded sugary finish.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2008 37.5 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a red hue and a pink/white head. Aroma is dark estheric cherries, not really sweet nor sour. Clear chaeery flavoured with a creamy mouthfeel going into a dry finish with vague sulphorish note. Very nice.7-4-8-4-16=3.9

ZBF2008: From tap. Pours clear and golden red with a pink head. Aroma is cherry fruity, light caramel malt base. Flavour is sweet cherry, light woody note and with a mild caramel malt base. Caramel takes over most the finish.7-4-7-4-14=3.6
