It’s red! A rather nice medium red colour with an orange tint, very suiting for a soft drink. A small, pink, very short-lived head that leaves no lacing. Again very soft drink like, but I guess it’s how this style is supposed to look like? The aroma is of course very fruity with sour cherry (d’oh!), sparkling rose wine and oak. The taste is medium sweet and light sour, flavours of tart cherries, almond extract and oak. Also this strange flavour in the aftertaste that is so typical for spontaneous fermented beers. Feels rather sugary on the palate, but the finish is still rather dry. Quite ok, but a bit too simple and sugary sweet.
[37.5 cl bottle (4%), from Centra Colosseum, Majorstua, Oslo]

Bottle @ Haket on October 31. Pours hazy red with a small white head. Smell is sweet with an artificial cherry character too it, kinda smells like Dr Pepper. Taste is very sweet with burnt sugar and sweet cherries. Finish is light and sweet. Not impressed, I prefer my kriek sour :)

On tap @ The Rover Aroma: Heavy cherry action, some funkyness which is not common in a sweet kriek. Taste: Almonds, cherries, very focused. Mouthfeel: Finish is well... none, medium body.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2011 Tasted from a 375mL corked and caged bottle at Delilah’s Lambic Fest 2011. Pours hazy blood orange with a thick white head that leaves spotty lace. The nose is naturally earthy tart cherry with a hint of malt sweetness, and a bit of balsamic vinegar. The flavor is very sour with just a hint of sweetness, along with balsamic vinegar, sour lemon, and a hint of oaky vanilla. The body is medium and tannic with average carbonation and a long sour cherry and acidic finish.

[Tap] Poured into a flute glass. Garnet in color with a sparkling white head. Cherry juice, nutmeg, and sweet fruitiness in the nose. Heavy cherry taste is dry and slightly sour. Little funk to it. Nice body and sweet candy finish. Very high carbonation level was champagne-like. An easy drinker if you like this kind of thing.

Tap. The beer pours to a deep murky red body with a pinkish white head. The aroma is definitely cherries. More of a bing cherry with vanilla and sugar sweetness. The flavor was also pretty much bing cherry juice and light funk. I really wasn’t happy with this beer, which was surprising. The palate is medium bodied and sweet. Murky.

Bottle. Pours red with pink head. Aroma of cherries, almonds, caramel and sugar. Flavor is sweer cherry with some caramel and funk. Medium body, average carbonation. Ok kriek, somewhat sweet.

Bottle: pours dark red with a thin head, aroma of cherries, taste is tart, mild carbonation, dry finish. Not one of the best lambics I’ve had but not bad either.
